Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

On Flow Reversal in Turbulent Swirling Flow

open access: yesJournal of the Physical Society of Japan, 2003
Summary: A turbulent swirling flow is studied with the aid of a variational method. The mean-flow field is expressed by the mean vorticity proportional to its curl. The total axial flux and total helicity per unit length are introduced to characterize the swirling flow, and the condition for the reversal of the axial flow near the center of flow is ...

Predictors of response and rational combinations for the novel MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665 in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

Mesh Twisting Technique for Swirl Induced Laminar Flow Used to Determine a Desired Blade Shape

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Swirling flow has been shown to increase heat transfer in heat exchangers. However, producing swirl while not presenting a severe pressure drop can be a challenge.

Parameter optimization of longitudinal swirl nozzle based on CFD

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan, 2021
In order to solve the problems of high water consumption and poor atomization effect of mine swirl nozzles, the relevant parameters that affect the spray effect are proposed: the spiral angle of the swirl core, the length ratio of the nozzle contraction

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Swirl flow response to transverse and axial acoustic forcing

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2014
The present study is an experimental investigation on the effect of axial and transverse acoustic forcing on a generic swirl flow. The aim is to provide a qualitative understanding of typical swirl flow response to transverse acoustic forcing, for a ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
