Electromagnetic design of switched reluctance generator

The Fifth International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems, 2003. PEDS 2003., 2004
The electromagnetic design method and the procedure of the switched reluctance generator system are presented by taking a three-phase 12/8 structure switched reluctance generator system for example. The output equation relating to the relationship between the structure parameters and the electric/magnetic loads is derived.

Compensation power generation for linear switched reluctance generators

2016 International Symposium on Electrical Engineering (ISEE), 2016
Since the wave energy power generation has a low voltage output and poor stability in low speed, the scheme of a compensation power generation scheme of two bilateral asymmetric linear switched reluctance generators (BALSRG) is proposed. The mathematic model of the BALSRG is derived and machine characteristics are investigated.

Switched reluctance generator controls for optimal power generation and battery charging

2011 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2011
This paper presents a control strategy for varying the turn-on and turn-off angles of three-phase switched reluctance generators (SRGs) to maximize the efficiency as well as to reduce the dc-link ripple current resulting from the commutation of phase currents at high speeds.

Switched Reluctance Generator Control for Optimal Power Generation With Current Regulation

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2012
The paper presents a novel method of controlling switched reluctance generators (SRGs) for maximum efficiency with active current regulation. The effect of varying the input control parameters on the efficiency of the SRG is first analyzed through exhaustive data collection through simulation and experiments.

Measurement of heat transfer in a switched reluctance generator

7th AIAA/ASME Joint Thermophysics and Heat Transfer Conference, 1998
INTRODUCTION This paper presents an analytical and experimental investigation of the convective heat transfer between a cylinder rotating at high speed within a stationary outer cylinder with a small clearance gap. The investigation is the basis of a larger study to determine the convective film coefficients on the unique faces of a four-pole high ...

Linearization for Output Voltage Control of Switched Reluctance Generator

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics
The switched reluctance generator (SRG) has intrinsic spatial and magnetic nonlinearities, making it challenging to design an output voltage controller with accurate tracking performance. This article proposes a linearization technique to improve the voltage control of SRG.

On the suitability of switched reluctance drives for starter/generator application

Vehicular Technology Conference. IEEE 55th Vehicular Technology Conference. VTC Spring 2002 (Cat. No.02CH37367), 2003
This paper addresses various aspects of the switched reluctance (SR) machine based starter/alternator (S/A) system for a more electric car. Inherent simplicity of the machine geometry and control, offering high efficiency and a very long constant power speed ratio along with a rugged structure and safe operation are among the most salient attributes of
