The novel control method of switched reluctance generator

open access: yesArchives of Electrical Engineering, 2017
In the paper, a novel control method of a switched reluctance generator was discussed. The presented control method allows a rotor rotating at high speed to enter the continuous-conduction mode which causes an increase of generated output power.

Investigation of multi-phase tubular permanent magnet linear generator for wave energy converters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this article, an investigation into different magnetization topologies for a long stator tubular permanent magnet linear generator is performed through a comparison based on the cogging force disturbance, the power output, and the cost of the raw ...

Thermally induced mechanical stress in the stator windings of electrical machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The lifetime of an electrical machine mainly depends on the thermal overloading. Modern day applications of electrical machines on one hand require compact machines with high power density, while on the other hand force electrical machines to undergo ...

Power Quality Improvement Wind Energy System Using Cascaded Multilevel Inverter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, a wind energy conversion system based on a cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter (CHBMLI) topology has been proposed to be used for the grid interface of large split winding alternators (SWAs).

Fundamental Consideration on Switched Reluctance Generators.

open access: yesJournal of the Magnetics Society of Japan, 2003
Switched reluctance motors (SRMs) have various desirable features, such as simple and strong construction, high reliability, low cost, and ease of maintenance, as they have no rotor windings and no permanent magnets. These features make SRMs suitable for use in super-high-speed generators used in devices such as micro gas turbines.

Cost-Effective and High-Efficiency Variable-Speed Switched Reluctance Drives With Ring-Connected Winding Configuration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This paper presents a novel converter topology for six-phase switched reluctance motor (SRM) drives, which reduces the number of switches and diodes by half, compared with the conventional asymmetric half-bridge converter, but needs no additional energy ...

Efficiency Improvement of Switched Reluctance Generator Using Optimization Techniques

open access: yesTransactions on Environment and Electrical Engineering, 2017
This article introduces the switched reluctance machine operating as a generator. This kind of electrical machine delivers CC power at the output and the energy generated can be controlled through several variables.
