Switched reluctance motors (SRMs) have various desirable features, such as simple and strong construction, high reliability, low cost, and ease of maintenance, as they have no rotor windings and no permanent magnets. These features make SRMs suitable for use in super-high-speed generators used in devices such as micro gas turbines.
