Short circuit analysis of switched reluctance machine
IECON 2014 - 40th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2014Understanding of faults and their impacts on the performance of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) is essential for fault detection and post fault control strategy development. In this paper, an 8/6 SRM is modeled and analyzed under various short circuit faults and operational conditions.

Comparative Study of Wound-Field Flux-Switching Machines and Switched Reluctance Machines
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2017In this paper, comparisons between two permanent-magnet-free (PM-free) machines, namely a wound-field flux-switching machine (WFFSM) and a switched reluctance machine (SRM), covering skewed-rotor and straight-rotor structures are conducted. The topologies and operation principles of the WFFSM are illustrated firstly.

Design of a linear switched reluctance machine
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2000A standard design procedure for a single-sided and longitudinal flux-based linear switched reluctance machine is developed in this paper. The proposed design procedure utilizes the rotating switched reluctance machine design by converting the specifications of the linear machine into the equivalent rotary machine.

Switched reluctance machine drives
2018Switched reluctance machine drives present a unique ability for fault-tolerant applications due to a high level of electric and magnetic independence between motor phases. This feature allows the machine to keep running with a high degree of safety and low-performance degradation, when a fault occurs in one or more phases.

Sensorless operation of the switched reluctance machine
2007 European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications, 2007This paper presents a method for the determination of the rotor position of the Switched Reluctance Machine (SRM). The advantage of this method is simplicity, independence on the DC link voltage and it provides the accurate sensorless rotor position for starting, motor as well as generator operation.

Noise reduction of switched reluctance machine
IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference. IEMDC'99. Proceedings (Cat. No.99EX272), 2003In this paper, the results relative to switched reluctance machine (SRM) acoustic noise are presented. The authors have particularly concentrated on the influence of power supply. Vibrations and radiated acoustic pressure have been reduced thanks to the flux instantaneous variation control, which was applied in limiting the duty cycle variations ...

2018
The switched reluctance machine (SRM or also SWRM) started to receive much attention at the end of the 20th century. Its operation principle had already been known since 1838 but had not been able to find a practical use because no (fast) power electronic switches were available.

Inductance measurements in switched reluctance machines
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2005We propose a simple method for measuring the parameters of switched reluctance machines. We compare our method with two other methods for evaluating inductance under conditions of strong magnetic saturation. We present the results of our measurements and those of finite-element simulations.

Scaling and dimensioning of switched reluctance machines
European Transactions on Electrical Power, 1997AbstractA scaling law applying to a geometrically analogous series of switched reluctance machines (SRM), based on two‐dimensional non‐linear field analysis is presented in the paper. It highlights the fact that both linear and saturated permeances per unit axial length at different rotor positions are invariant under scaling.

Nonlinear modeling of switched reluctance machine
2011 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems, 2011As the static magnetic characteristic of switched reluctance machine(SRM) is nonlinear and its accurate mathematical modeling is difficult to set up, the least squares support vector machine method has been used to the nonlinear modeling of switched reluctance machine.
