Targeting p38α in cancer: challenges, opportunities, and emerging strategies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
p38α normally regulates cellular stress responses and homeostasis and suppresses malignant transformation. In cancer, however, p38α is co‐opted to drive context‐dependent proliferation and dissemination. p38α also supports key functions in cells of the tumor microenvironment, including fibroblasts, myeloid cells, and T lymphocytes.

Microwave switching power divider [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
A pair of parallel, spaced-apart circular ground planes define a microwave cavity with multi-port microwave power distributing switching circuitry formed on opposite sides of a thin circular dielectric substrate disposed between the ground planes.

Performance analysis of gain ratio power allocation strategies for non-orthogonal multiple access in indoor visible light communication networks

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2018
Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is a promising method for enhancing the throughput in visible light communication (VLC) networks. In NOMA, signal power domain control, called gain ratio power allocation (GRPA), can significantly improve the user ...

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Spatially extended nature of resistive switching in perovskite oxide thin films

open access: yes, 2006
We report the direct observation of the electric pulse induced resistance-change (EPIR) effect at the nano scale on La1-xSrxMnO3 (LSMO) thin films by the current measurement AFM technique.

Strategy-Based Gain Ratio Power Allocation in Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access for Indoor Visible Light Communication Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Visible light communication (VLC) is an evolving green communication technology for indoor wireless communication networks. VLC utilizes light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for both illumination and communication.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

CODE-SWITCHING AND CODE-MIXING ON PERSUASION IN INDONESIAN TELEVISION ADVERTISEMENTS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Bilingualism and multilingualism have been a popular topic to discuss recently. Two the examples of the phenomenon are code-switching and code-mixing.

Dynamic SDN Controller Association Mechanism Based on Flow Characteristics

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In software-defined networking with the distributed control plane, the switches are associated with controllers using only the number of the flow requests as the basis of resource allocation, ignoring the characteristics of flow.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
