Changing snow water storage in natural snow reservoirs [PDF]
This work introduces a novel snow metric, snow water storage (SwS), defined as the integrated area under the snow water equivalent (SWE) curve (units: length-time, e.g., m d).

Enabling the rational use of energy and the realization of the “dual carbon goals” across China will require systematic analysis of temporal and spatial changes in surface wind speed (SWS), determination of key factors influencing SWS, and quantification

ISO-SWS spectroscopy of NGC 1068 [PDF]
We present ISO-SWS spectroscopy of NGC 1068 for the wavelength range 2.4 to 45um, detecting a total of 36 emission lines. Most of the observed transitions are fine structure and recombination lines originating in the narrow line region.

Oscillatory Instabilities of Standing Waves in One-Dimensional Nonlinear Lattices
In one-dimensional anharmonic lattices, we construct nonlinear standing waves (SWs) reducing to harmonic SWs at small amplitude. For SWs with spatial periodicity incommensurate with the lattice period, a transition by breaking of analyticity versus wave ...

Analysis of W-band traveling-wave tube based upon slotted sine waveguide slow wave structure
In this paper, a W-band traveling-wave tube (TWT) is proposed by combining the slotted sine waveguide (SSWG) slow-wave structure (SWS) with the cylindrical electron beam.

We present two systems that pick the ten most appropriate substitutes for a marked word in a test sentence. The first system scores candidates based on how frequently their local contexts match that of the marked word. The second system, an enhancement to the first, incorporates cosine similarity using unigram features.

Magnetic domain-wall motion by propagating spin waves
We found by micromagnetic simulations that the motion of a transverse wall (TW) type domain wall in magnetic thin-film nanostripes can be manipulated via interaction with spin waves (SWs) propagating through the TW.

Shift schedules and circadian preferences: the association with sleep and mood
ObjectWe explored the circadian preferences of non-shift workers (non-SWs) and various types of shift workers (SWs), and the associations of these preferences with sleep and mood.MethodsIn total, 4,561 SWs (2,419 women and 2,142 men aged 37.00 ± 9.80 ...

A clinician′s dilemma: Sturge-Weber syndrome ′without facial nevus′!!
Sturge-Weber syndrome (SWS) is a rare, sporadic neurocutaneous syndrome characterized by a classical triad of facial port wine nevus, ipsilateral leptomeningeal angiomatosis (LAM) and glaucoma. The incidence of SWS is 1/50,000 live births, although it is
