Symbol complexity and symbol identification with rotated symbols

open access: yesActa Psychologica, 1983
Abstract Previous studies of the identification of rotated symbols have been restricted to either alphanumeric characters or symbols designed to be similar in complexity and type to alphanumerics. These researches have found identification response times to be independent of the magnitude of a symbol's angular displacement from a standard upright ...

Banach algebras of pseudodifferential operators and their almost diagonalization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We define new symbol classes for pseudodifferntial operators and investigate their pseudodifferential calculus. The symbol classes are parametrized by commutative convolution algebras.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Statistical data mining for symbol associations in genomic databases

open access: yes, 2013
A methodology is proposed to automatically detect significant symbol associations in genomic databases. A new statistical test is proposed to assess the significance of a group of symbols when found in several genesets of a given database.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Relating brain structure images to personality characteristics using 3D convolution neural network

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, 2021
The Keras deep learning framework is employed to study MRI brain data in a preliminary analysis of brain structure using a convolutional neural network. The results obtained are matched with the content of personality questionnaires.

De novo Prediction of Moonlighting Proteins Using Multimodal Deep Ensemble Learning

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2021
Moonlighting proteins (MPs) are a special type of protein with multiple independent functions. MPs play vital roles in cellular regulation, diseases, and biological pathways. At present, very few MPs have been discovered by biological experiments. Due to

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...
