NCResNet: Noncoding Ribonucleic Acid Prediction Based on a Deep Resident Network of Ribonucleic Acid Sequences

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2020
Noncoding RNA (ncRNA) is a kind of RNA that plays an important role in many biological processes, diseases, and cancers, while cannot translate into proteins.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

The Capacity of Successive DF Relaying and Using Soft Multiple-Symbol Differential Sphere Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The conventional single-relay aided two-phase cooperative network employing a so-called soft-input soft-output multiple-symbol differential sphere detection (SISO-MSDSD) and operating in a distributed turbo decoding mode incurs a high complexity and ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Multiple-Symbol Differential Sphere Detection for the Amplify-and-Forward Cooperative Uplink [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
It is widely recognized that the differential amplify-and-forward (DAF) transmission scheme is capable of providing a superior performance compared to classic direct transmissions employing differential detection in slow-fading channels and in fact it ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.
