Instruction-level distributed processing for symmetric-key cryptography

Proceedings International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium, 2004
Efficient implementation of block ciphers is critical towards achieving both high security and high-speed processing. Numerous block ciphers have been proposed and implemented, using a wide and varied range of functional operations. As a result, it has become increasingly more difficult to develop a hardware architecture that allows the efficient and ...

An instruction-level distributed processor for symmetric-key cryptography

IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, 2005
Efficient implementation of block ciphers is critical toward achieving both high security and high-speed processing. Numerous block ciphers have been proposed and implemented, using a wide and varied range of functional operations. Existing architectures such as microcontrollers do not provide this broad range of support.

Improved proxy re-encryption scheme for symmetric key cryptography

2017 International Workshop on Big Data and Information Security (IWBIS), 2017
A proxy re-encryption scheme is a scheme that can be executed by a semi-trusted proxy, so that we can convert a ciphertext encrypted with a key to another ciphertext without allowing the proxy to access the plaintext. A method to implement a secure proxy re-encryption is by first converting the plaintext to an intermediate form by using an all or ...

On the Use of Asynchronous Cellular Automata in Symmetric-Key Cryptography

2016
This paper addresses a symmetric key cryptosystem using rule 57 asynchronous cellular automata. It is experimentally shown that the proposed cryptosystem achieves the avalanche effect after 32000 iterations. The vulnerability of the proposed scheme is discussed and note that, brute-force attack is practically infeasible. The effectiveness of the scheme

Application of cellular automata in symmetric key cryptography

2014 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing, 2014
This paper presents a symmetric key cryptography technique that uses cellular automata(CA). Proposed cryptosystem has been implemented in C. State transitions of programmable cellular automata (PCA) are the basis to define certain fundamental transformations to encrypt and decrypt in the cryptographic system.

Tamilian Cryptography: An Efficient Hybrid Symmetric Key Encryption Algorithm

Wireless Personal Communications, 2019
Cryptography is one of the most accepted and successful data security methods used at present by most of the organizations. Encrypting the message using natural languages reduces the encryption time and improves the performance. Tamil is a most ancient Dravidian language spoken in the southern part of India.

Fast parallel table lookups to accelerate symmetric-key cryptography

International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing (ITCC'05) - Volume II, 2005
Table lookups are one of the most frequently-used operations in symmetric key ciphers. Particularly in the newer algorithms such as the advanced encryption standard (AES), we frequently find that the greatest fraction of the execution time is spent during table lookups, varying between 34% and 72% for the five representative ciphers we consider: AES ...
