Drugs capable of blocking vasoconstricting and blood pressure elevating effects of epinephrine have been known for many years. Early examples are ergotoxin, the Fourneau compound 933F and yohimbine. These drugs in higher dose range often depress sympathetic activity as judged by vasomotor reflexes.
