Effects of synbiotics on ileal microbiota
Background & objectives: Despite advancements in molecular-based methods, the composition of the human ileal microbiota and the effects of synbiotics/probiotics on its microbes remain poorly understood. The aim of this study was to determine the composition of the mucus microbiota in the human ileum and to assess the ...

Heat stress disrupts gut microbial balance in poultry, impairing nutrient absorption and immunity. This review outlines the interplay between thermal stress and microbiome dynamics and discusses integrative mitigation strategies, probiotics, phytogenics, cooling systems, and genetic adaptation to enhance poultry resilience.

Dietary and biomarker‐guided strategies as supportive measures in the fragile X syndrome
Abstract The fragile X syndrome (FXS) is an inherited neurodevelopmental disorder that primarily affects males, often resulting in an IQ below 55, while about two‐thirds of females also experience intellectual disability. Physical features may include an elongated face, prominent ears, finger joint laxity, and enlarged testes in males.

Prebiotic Ginseng polysaccharides (GP) alleviate mastitis through selective enrichment of gut L. murinus, which elevates its anti‐inflammatory metabolite deoxycholic acid (DCA). Circulating DCA engages mammary epithelial TGR5 receptors, triggering the cAMP–PKA pathway to suppress NF‐κB/NLRP3‐mediated inflammation.

The “efficacy paradox” of phytochemicals, low bioavailability yet significant health benefits, is associated with gut microbiota, which biotransforms dietary precursors into bioactive metabolites, enabling systemic effects. Thus, health outcomes of diet depend not just on intake “the rainbow”, but on gut microbial metabolism, redefining “you are what ...
