Exploring the long-term variability and evolutionary stage of the interacting binary DQ Velorum
To progress in the comprehension of the double periodic variable (DPV) phenomenon, we analyse a series of optical spectra of the DPV system DQ Velorum during much of its long-term cycle.

Mining the history of synchronous changes to refine code ownership [PDF]
When software repositories are mined, two distinct sources of information are usually explored: the history log and snapshots of the system. Results of analyses derived from these two sources are biased by the frequency with which developers commit their changes. We argue that the usage of mainstream SCM systems influences the way that developers work.

We derive general covariant expressions for the six independent observable modes of distortion of ideal standard rulers in a perturbed Friedmann-Robertson-Walker spacetime. Our expressions are gauge-invariant and valid on the full sky.

Multicentric Giant Cell Tumor of Bone: Synchronous and Metachronous Presentation
A 27-year-old man treated 2.5 years ago for synchronous multicentric giant cell tumor of bone located at the right proximal humerus and the right 5th finger presented now with complaints of pain in his right hip and wrist of two-month duration. Radiology

Earth History and the Evolution of Caribbean Bats [PDF]
Although the natural history of the Caribbean is better understood now than ever before, a general biogeographic explanation for the peculiar faunal composition of the islands remains elusive.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

Incidence of Gastric Cancer in Patients with Laryngeal Cancer
Background/Aims: Gastric cancer (GC) is the second most common cancer in Korea and the most common in men in the south of the country. We investigated the incidence of synchronous GC in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) in the ...

Synchronous primary papillary breast cancer, medullary thyroid carcinoma and neuroendocrine tumor in postmenopausal woman. [PDF]
Multiple endocrine neoplasia are syndromes involving two or more endocrine tissues, often correlated to RET proto-oncogene mutations. We herein present the first reported case of a 57-years-old woman with three synchronous primary cancers of breast ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.
