Multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT) evaluation of synchronous renal cell carcinoma and other solid malignancies

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, 2022
Background Multiple primary malignant neoplasms (MPMNs) became more prevalent as the population aged and medical technology progressed. The purpose of this research was to review the findings of multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) in synchronous ...

Aptamer‐Engineered Liposomal Platform Enables in Situ cDC1 Vaccination to Potentiate Immunotherapy in Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Prostate cancer is immunologically ‘cold’, with scarce, dysfunctional type 1 conventional dendritic cells (cDC1s) that limit T cell priming. We introduce an aptamer‐targeted liposomedelivering FMS‐like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (Flt3L) and chlorin e6 (Ce6). Ultrasound induces antigen release and cDC1s recruitment, creating an in situ cDC1 vaccine.

Prevalence of Synchronous and Metachronous Oral Primary Malignancies with PET/CT Imaging in a Regional Cancer Center—A Retrospective Study

open access: yesJournal of Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology
Background: While MPMNs are increasingly encountered in oncology, the diagnostic performance of FDG-PET/CT for these cases necessitates further elucidation.

Colonic adenocarcinoma with synchronous metastasis to the pancreas: A case report and literature review

open access: yesJGH Open, 2022
Metastatic lesions to the pancreas are a rare entity and make up about 0.5–5% of all pancreatic malignancies. Synchronous pancreatic metastasis is even less frequently reported.

Selenium Nanoparticles Selectively Target KRAS G13D to Inhibit Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The mechanisms of SeNPs therapy in cancer treatment, encompass three parallel actions: (1) seleno‐amino acids, key metabolites, upregulate GPX2 expression, thereby inhibiting tumor metastasis via the GPX2‐HIF1α‐VEGF signaling pathway; (2) selenite (SeO32−), an inorganic metabolite, forms hydrogen bonds with amino acid residues 13–17 of the KRAS G13D ...

Tree parsing with synchronous tree-adjoining grammars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Restricting the input or the output of a grammar-induced translation to a given set of trees plays an important role in statistical machine translation. The problem for practical systems is to find a compact (and in particular, finite) representation of ...

Rapid In Vitro Pathological Diagnosis of Glioma Using Dual‐Color Quantum Dot Probes for Precise Intraoperative Resection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glioma resection surgery is challenging because of the infiltrative growth of the tumor into nearby tissue and the different surgical requirements for gliomas with different mutation types. To improve the precision and effectiveness of glioma resection, this study developed a new imaging probe that enables the tumor boundary and mutation status to be ...

Advanced head and neck cancer: Long-term results of chemo-radiotherapy, complications and induction of second malignancies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Background: Chemo-radiotherapy is superior to radiotherapy alone in the treatment of advanced, inoperable head and neck cancer. The long-term treatment results, the induction of second malignant tumors, and other long-term toxicities are not well defined.

A Case Report of Rare Synchronous Esophageal Malignancies With Dissimilar Histology: Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Small Cell Carcinoma

open access: yes, 2022
The presence of synchronous primary malignancies is a rare phenomenon reported in the literature. Most synchronous malignancies reported include carcinomas and adenocarcinomas of the gastrointestinal tract, head and neck cancers, thyroid and breast ...
