Identification of linear synchronous reluctance motor parameters

Conference Record of the 2000 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. Thirty-Fifth IAS Annual Meeting and World Conference on Industrial Applications of Electrical Energy (Cat. No.00CH37129), 2002
This paper deals with experimental methods for the identification of linear synchronous reluctance motor (LSRM) parameters. A magnetically nonlinear two-axis dynamic LSRM model is derived. This model accounts for the effects of slotting, saturation, cross-saturation, and the end effects. The parameters of the obtained model are not constant.

Design of synchronous reluctance and permanent magnet synchronous reluctance machines for electric vehicle application

COMPEL: The International Journal for Computation and Mathematics in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2014
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to minimize the optimization parameter number of synchronous reluctance machine (SynRM) and permanent magnet (PM) assisted SynRM, and compare their relative merits with interior permanent magnet (IPM) machine for electric vehicle applications, in terms of electromagnetic performance

Stability of Reluctance Synchronous Motor

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1968
The paper presents a block diagram representation of the reluctance synchronous motor and investigates its dynamic stability under different operating conditions using the linear servo theory. Both the stability of torque and power angle functions and of the overall system, including the system dynamics, are analyzed for different steady-state power ...

Investigation of Self-Excited Synchronous Reluctance Generators

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2018
In this paper, an analytical model in the $dq$ reference frame is developed to recognize the steady state of the self-excited reluctance generator considering no-load and resistive load conditions. A fast method to estimate the minimum capacitance requirement is proposed. Experiments have been carried out to verify the analytical results.

Nanoactuators: novel synchronous reluctance nanomachines

2003 Third IEEE Conference on Nanotechnology, 2003. IEEE-NANO 2003., 2004
All synthesized to date nano- and microscale machines and actuators benefit from mimicking of biomachines. Due to nanobiomachines and nanobioactuators complexity, it is yet unknown how these rotational nanobiodevices operate. The basic physics of synchronous reluctance nanomachines is examined in this paper.

High-performance control of synchronous reluctance motors

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1997
Based on a (d,q) synchronous frame, the control problems of synchronous reluctance motors are outlined. In particular, the effect of magnetic saturation, core loss, and angular measurement errors of various types are evidenced. A flux-observer-based control scheme, capable of overcoming most of the above problems, is proposed.

Predictive Control of Synchronous Reluctance Motor Drive

2007 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2007
A predictive digital control algorithm, suitable for synchronous reluctance motor drives, is presented in the paper. The proposed algorithm, which is a direct digital control one, is implemented in rotor coordinates. It is a recursive algorithm which allows the imposition of the reference values of d and q current components. The digital control system

Synchronous Reluctance and PM Assisted Reluctance Motors

2016
This chapter focuses on the key notions about analysis and design of synchronous reluctance and permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance motors. The aim is to highlight not only the advantages of such machines but also some drawbacks of theirs, such as the low power factor and the torque ripple.

Thermal Analysis of Synchronous Reluctance Machines – A Review

Electric Power Components and Systems, 2019
Synchronous Reluctance Machines (SynRMs) are facing a revamped industrial interest. A comparison between SynRMs and other types of electric machines allow listing the advantages and proving the choice of such machines. This paper presents a review of SynRMs, regarding particularly their thermal analysis.

A comparative study on synchronous reluctance and PM-synchronous reluctance machine torque using FEM analysis

2018 9th Annual Power Electronics, Drives Systems and Technologies Conference (PEDSTC), 2018
This paper presents a comparative analysis on the torque of a synchronous reluctance machine (SyncRM) with interior mounted permanent magnets (PM-SyncRM) using 2D finite elements method. The proposed models are the combination of SyncRM and interior mounted PM (IPM) machine in order to achieve simple rotor and stator structure and high ...
