We formally solve the velocity and position regulation problem. A pendulum is included as the load in the position control problem. Our proposals are the closest control schemes to standard control for this class of motors, but our proposals are provided with formal stability proofs.

Synchronization of Reluctance Motors
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1981In most of control and industrial applications, a high degree of rotational stability and uniformity of speed is required. These requirements can be achieved by using reluctance motors. The synchronization process of such motors is of prime importance for these applications. Therefore, a simple and accurate criterion is developed to define this process.

Nonlinear reluctance network method for synchronous reluctance machine analysis
2015 18th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2015In rotating electrical machine design, the magnetic equivalent circuit based on the reluctance network method seems to be a fair tradeoff between computational time and precision. Therefore this paper deals with a semi-analytical calculation method of the direct and quadrature axis magnetic circuit in Reluctance Synchronous Machines (RSM) by the means ...

Design of synchronous reluctance motor
Proceedings:Electrical Electronics Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing & Coil Winding Conference, 2002The design of a synchronous reluctance motor with a segmental rotor is described. Three types of rotor configuration have been proposed and evaluated. The behavior of these motors are investigated by finite element analysis. The effects of cross coupling magnetization and magnetization saturation on the inductances are also demonstrated.

Identification Of Synchronous Reluctance Motor Parameters
Singapore International Conference on Intelligent Control and Instrumentation [Proceedings 1992], 2005The detection of the neutral point voltage of three-phase synchronous reluctance motors is useful for obtaining information on the operating conditions of the motor and also on the Fourier coefficients of the air gap permeance. It is known that these parameters are crucial for the accurate evaluation of the motor’s main quantities.

Reluctance synchronous motor asynchronous operation
IEEE CCECE2002. Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.02CH37373), 2003Although a synchronous machine is under consideration in this paper, the asynchronous performance of the reluctance synchronous machine is the relevant consideration. The machine starting procedure and its ability to synchronize successfully, even with high inertia loads, are also important issues to be considered in this paper.

Since the dominant induction machines and permanent magnet synchronous machines are well-established in the industry, the reluctance machines require more research work and investigation to substitute the conventional technologies. This paper analyzes the synchronous reluctance machines and permanent magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance machines in ...

Control of synchronous reluctance machines
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1993This work develops a comprehensive approach to the control of inverter-fed synchronous reluctance machines (SYNCREL), based on the machine's ideal model. From the theory a control simulation is designed. Simulation and experimental results are presented. The effects of saturation and iron losses are briefly considered. >

Optimisation analysis of synchronous reluctance motor design
Seventh International Conference on Electrical Machines and Drives, 1995The paper presents an automatic procedure for the design optimisation of a synchronous reluctance motor with a flux barrier rotor that combines the finite element analysis (FEA) with an optimisation routine. The aim of the optimisation is the improvement of the torque and it is carried out considering two different design strategies.
