Micromechanical behaviors related to confined deformation in pure titanium [PDF]
Confined deformation, e.g. mechanical twinning, shear banding, and Lüders banding, etc. was extensively observed in metals and alloys with low stacking-fault energies, especially under complex loadings, governing the mechanical properties.

Full-penetration laser beam welding is characterized by a weld seam whose depth equals the material thickness. It is associated with a stable capillary and is therefore widely used for welding of sheet metal components.

Noncommutative synchrotron [PDF]
We study the departures from the classical synchrotron radiation due to noncommutativity of coordinates. We find that these departures are significant, but do not give tight bounds on the magnitude of the noncommutative parameter. On the other hand, these results could be used in future investigations in this direction. We also find an acausal behavior

Synthesis and electrical properties of BaBiO3 and high resistivity BaTiO3–BaBiO3 ceramics [PDF]
Ceramics of the composition BaBiO3 (BB) were sintered in oxygen to obtain a single phase with monoclinic I2/m symmetry as suggested by high-resolution X-ray diffraction.

PEROVSKITES AND OTHER FRAMEWORK STRUCTURE CRYSTALLINE MATERIALS (BOOK' FIRST PAGES AND PREFACE)
Perovskites are among the most famous materials due to their exceptional properties: they present nearly all existing types of interesting properties, in particular as ferroics or multiferroics, they may be insulators, (super)conductors, or ...
