Synchrotron oscillations in high-energy synchrotrons
Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1969Abstract At very high energies the synchrotron frequency can be of the same order as the revolution frequency. For this case the synchrotron oscillation is investigated for a ring structure subdivided into discrete with acceleration and synchrotron radiation, respectively.

On synchrotron nebulae and pulsars
Space Science Reviews, 1981The existence of a rapidly spinning, magnetized, neutron star at the center of the Crab Nebula is revealed in the soft X-ray band both by the pulsed point source coincident with the pulsar and through the strong, diffuse, synchrotron emission of the nebula itself. Recent Einstein observations have shown that in three other cases (Vela, 3C58, and CTB80),

Mammography with synchrotron radiation.
Radiology, 1995To determine the feasibility of using synchrotron radiation (SR) in diagnostic mammography.Monochromatic SR of x-ray beams of selected energies of 14-20 keV were used to obtain mammograms of surgically removed breast specimens that contained tumor nodules.

Scattering Losses in the Synchrotron
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1951Scattering losses in various electron and proton synchrotrons by residual gas molecules are obtained for a variety of conditions. Evaluation is made of the effects of (1) injection energy of the particles, (2) the spread of the injected beam, (3) the pressure of the residual gas, (4) the rate at which energy is supplied to the beam particles, and (5 ...

Terahertz coherent synchrotron radiation at the synchrotron SOLEIL
35th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves, 2010We present experimental and numerical results on Terahertz coherent synchrotron radiation obtained in the beamline AILES at the synchrotron SOLEIL. Depending on the storage ring configuration and on the electron bunch current we observed either stable or instable signals.

Synchrotron and Undulator Radiation Experiments on the SIRIUS Synchrotron
Russian Physics Journal, 2002This paper discusses the main results of synchrotron and undulator radiation experiments performed on the SIRIUS accelerator at Tomsk Polytechnical University. Some examples of the use of the SIRIUS synchrotron as a vacuum UV and soft-x-ray source for investigations in solid-state physics and for applied research are given.

Spectroscopy with Synchrotron Radiation
1989We describe the results of spectroscopic investigations performed on solid materials using synchrotron radiation at the Italian Synchrotron Radiation Facility PULS showing the importance of such a realization. A perspective for future developments using a third generation storage ring is also briefly outlined.

Observation of coherent synchrotron radiation
Physical Review Letters, 1989Coherent effects in synchrotron radiation (SR) have been observed for the first time from 180-MeV short electron bunches of 2.4 mm using the Tohoku 300-MeV Linac. The intensity of the coherent SR was about ${10}^{5}$ times as strong as that of incoherent SR in the wavelengths of 0.4--2.2 mm.

A Novel Synchrotron Radiation Interferometer for the Australian Synchrotron
2010A new arrangement for the synchrotron radiation interferometer was proposed - as far as is known, it is unique in the world. The Young’s-type interferometer is composed of two independent and optically identical paths, each with a single slit on a motorised translating stage.
