The study carried out during the present Ph.D. program aimed at investigating the fermentation of syngas by Clostridium carboxidivorans to produce biofuels, with special attention on butanol. C. carboxidivorans is an acetogenic bacteria able to fix C-1 gases into biomass and to produce extracellular metabolites of interest.
