Co‐Selection of Low Cadmium Accumulation and High Yield During Tomato Improvement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study finds that large‐fruited tomatoes accumulate less cadmium (Cd) compared to wild tomatoes and cherry tomatoes. This is because, during the improvement process of tomato, the low‐Cd allele LCT1A and the large fruit allele fw3.2T are closely linked, leading to a co‐selection event.

GmSop20 Functions as a Key Coordinator of the Oil‐To‐Protein Ratio in Soybean Seeds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the seed oil‐to‐protein ratio as a comprehensive quality metric and identifies GmSop20 as a crucial regulatory gene through forward genetics methodologies. By integrating GmSop20 with superior haplotypes and using gene editing/overexpression, new strategies are provided for precisely tuning the seed oil‐to‐protein ratio, thereby

T2T Genomes Unveil Centromere Architecture and Adaptive Divergence in Large Yellow Croaker (Larimichthys crocea)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents telomere‐to‐telomere genome assemblies for two populations of Larimichthys crocea. We identified centromere‐specific tandem repeats invaded by LTR/ERV1 retrotransposons, unique 5S rRNA enrichment patterns, and population‐specific structural variants. Comparative genomic analyses further reveal distinct adaptive mechanisms in the MYD

Variações morfológicas em Edessa rufomarginata e revalidação de E. albomarginata e E. marginalis (Heteroptera, Pentatomidae, Edessinae) Morphological variants in Edessa rufomarginata and revalidation of E. albomarginata and E. marginalis (Heteroptera, Pentatomidae, Edessinae)

open access: yesIheringia: Série Zoologia, 2004
Based on the types of Edessa rufomarginata (De Geer, 1773) and its synonyms, on morphology of the paramere and coloration, seven patterns are described for E. rufomarginata.
