Methods of increasing the resolving power and depth of field of synthesized hologram-projectors

Journal of Optical Technology (A Translation of Opticheskii Zhurnal), 2016
This paper discusses the problem of increasing the resolving power of synthesized Fresnel hologram-projectors and increasing the depth of field of the images reconstructed by them. This work was applied to the case of the holograms of a two-dimensional object—for example, a photolithographic photomask or the working zone of optical pincers.

Problem of twin-image elimination in 2-D computer synthesized hologram

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
It is well known that one of the basic functions of security holograms is the maximal complication of their nonauthorized reproduction, in other words - counterfeiting. To solve the problem, concealed images that can be observed only under special conditions are placed into a structure of the hologram.

Particle size analysis using computer-synthesized holograms

IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1973
A holographic correlation method permits the determination of the diameter and size distribution of suspended particles with diameters from 1 microm to 10 microm. The method uses synthetic holograms calculated from the Mie scattering theory.

Methods of synthesizing focused-image holograms

Journal of Optical Technology, 2013
This paper discusses the main stages of the synthesis of focused-image holograms. It is established that the key problem of the synthesis when the projection objective has aberrations is to compute the complex amplitude of the object wave in the plane of the hologram. A high-throughput method of solving this problem is developed.

Synthesizing hologram–projectors for photolithography on nonplanar surfaces

Journal of Optical Technology, 2015
This paper discusses how binarization and diffuse illumination of an object affect the depth of field of an image reconstructed by means of synthesized Fresnel hologram–projectors. It presents the results of an experimental study that confirm the possibility and efficiency of using a specialized software complex to synthesize and reconstruct Fresnel ...

Fast and effective algorithm for synthesizing computer-generated holograms

SPIE Proceedings, 2002
Over the past years great efforts have been made to find the optimization methods for synthesizing computer-generated holograms, e.g., kinoforms. The simulated annealing (SA) method is widely used in programing to approach the global optimization. But the drawback of the SA is it is time consuming.

How the nonlinearity of synthesized holograms affects their imaging properties

Journal of Optical Technology, 2019
This paper discusses the main features of image formation by means of synthesized holograms, caused by the inherent nonlinearity of the mathematical description of the holographic field. Special attention is paid to discrete halftone and binary holograms, which are a limiting case of nonlinear holograms. Recommendations are given for choosing synthesis

Analysis of 2D Digital Holography using Synthesized Holograms

Biomedical Optics and 3-D Imaging, 2012
An algorithm to generate synthesized holograms is described, and the results are validated by comparing them with an experiment. The system’s axial resolution is analyzed using the algorithm as an example of the algorithm’s capabilities.
