Monitoring small-scale aspheric optics by means of synthesized holograms
Journal of Optical Technology, 2011This paper proposes a setup for monitoring concave aspheric surfaces, using an axial synthesized holographic compensator with a spacing from the test surface greater than the vertex radius of curvature of this surface, and presents experimental verification that it is workable.

Monitoring convex aspheric surfaces using axial synthesized holograms
Journal of Optical Technology, 2007This paper discusses the possibilities of monitoring convex aspheric surfaces, using axial synthesized holograms as optical compensators. Various monitoring methods are presented that have been investigated experimentally and are used for process and certification monitoring of the aspheric surfaces of lenses and mirrors fabricated in experimental ...

We present a theoretical framework for recording and reconstructing incoherent correlation holograms of real-existing three-dimensional scenes observed from multiple viewpoints. This framework is demonstrated by generating and reconstructing a modified Fresnel hologram as well as a new correlation hologram called a protected correlation hologram.

How the method of representing an object affects the imaging properties of synthesized holograms
Journal of Optical Technology, 2015This paper establishes how the method of representing an object affects the imaging properties of synthesized holograms. It is shown that, if a hologram is synthesized by representing an object on the basis of its spatial-frequency analysis, this disrupts the structure of the reconstructed image—i.e., it causes the reconstructed image to be displayed ...

Computer-generated holograms at an arbitrary viewpoint synthesized from multi-view images
SPIE Proceedings, 2009We propose a new method of synthesizing computer-generated holograms (CGHs) at an arbitrary viewpoint from multi-view images under a natural light environment. This method generates a CGH of an arbitrary viewpoint using multi-view images from randomly arranged cameras. The method is based on a distance transformation and a rotation of a light wave. The

Holo-graphics: A Framework for Synthesizing Hologram of Complex Object Scene
3D Research, 2014This paper reports a novel concept known as “Holo-graphics”, a term that is an amalgamation of “hologram” and “computer graphics”. The idea is to explore a method whereby traditional computer graphic techniques can be applied in synthesizing holograms of complicated object scenes.

Analysis of the leakage from computer-generated holograms synthesized by direct binary search
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 1989Images reconstructed from computer-generated holograms synthesized by the iterative direct binary search (DBS) technique suffer from noise due to leakage from uncontrolled parts of the diffraction pattern. The statistics of the nonhomogeneous leakage noise are analyzed under the assumption of independent, identically distributed (iid) addressable ...

Wide-angle optical systems with combiner on the basis of the synthesized volume holograms for HMD
SPIE Proceedings, 2007Designing and manufacturing of wide-angle optical systems for application in helmet mount displays are considered. Specific requirements are shown and analyzed, including: minimization of weight and size, achievement of the big field of vision, convenience of allocation on a helmet and others. Key element of HMD is combiner.

Three-Dimensional Fourier-Transform Method for Synthesizing Binary Holograms*
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1968A new method for the synthesis of holograms, based on a Fourier transformation, has been theoretically derived and experimentally verified. The method extends the familiar two-dimensional optical Fourier-transform analysis to include objects located in a volume centered about the focal point of the transform lens, and is specifically developed to ...

A novel method to extract a bounding box that contains the three-dimensional object from its spherical hologram is proposed. The proposed method uses the windowed Fourier transform to obtain the angular distribution of the quasi-collimated beams at each position in the spherical hologram and estimates ...
