How the nonlinearity of synthesized holograms affects their imaging properties

Journal of Optical Technology, 2019
This paper discusses the main features of image formation by means of synthesized holograms, caused by the inherent nonlinearity of the mathematical description of the holographic field. Special attention is paid to discrete halftone and binary holograms, which are a limiting case of nonlinear holograms. Recommendations are given for choosing synthesis

Imaging of rotating objects by means of synthesized optical holograms

Optics and Spectroscopy, 2000
A scheme is presented for producing optical holograms of rotating objects by illuminating the object by a single-frequency coherent laser beam. Along one axis, the synthesis takes place due to rotation of the object; along the other axis, the hologram is synthesized by the coherent radiation field generated by a long linear optical antenna.

Monitoring small-scale aspheric optics by means of synthesized holograms

Journal of Optical Technology, 2011
This paper proposes a setup for monitoring concave aspheric surfaces, using an axial synthesized holographic compensator with a spacing from the test surface greater than the vertex radius of curvature of this surface, and presents experimental verification that it is workable.

A Novel Position-Shift Method of Double-Phase Fresnel Hologram for Synthesizing a Complex Fresnel Hologram

2020
An ideal desired spatial light modulator that is capable of complex amplitude modulation will be one of the ultimate tools for holographic display. In this paper, an analytical method to overlap double-phase Fresnel holograms displayed on the phase-only spatial light modulators for synthesizing a complex Fresnel hologram is proposed.

Multiple-viewpoint projection holograms synthesized by spatially incoherent correlation with broadband functions

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2008
We present a theoretical framework for recording and reconstructing incoherent correlation holograms of real-existing three-dimensional scenes observed from multiple viewpoints. This framework is demonstrated by generating and reconstructing a modified Fresnel hologram as well as a new correlation hologram called a protected correlation hologram.

An arrangement of transmitter and receiver arrays for synthesizing acoustical holograms

Electronics and Communications in Japan (Part I: Communications), 1983
AbstractA method is discussed for synthesizing acoustic holograms consisting of MN pieces of data with M transmitters and N receivers in an acoustic hologram imaging system. Several methods similar to the approach presented here for reducing the total number of transmitters and receivers are examined. the distinctive feature of the proposed method lies

Voxel-based algorithm for calculating 3D computer generated hologram with occlusion effect

SPIE/COS Photonics Asia, 2018
In this paper, a voxel-based algorithm for calculating phase-only three-dimensional (3D) computer generated holograms (CGHs) with occlusion effect is proposed.

Photography of an Object for Synthesizing a Composite Hologram

Journal of Applied Spectroscopy, 2001
The quality of the image recorded on a synthesized hologram with different arrangements of the cameras forming the original images is analyzed. Optimum parameters of the positioning of cameras for forming images recorded on subholograms in order to construct composite holograms with minimum distortions have been obtained.

Computer-generated holograms at an arbitrary viewpoint synthesized from multi-view images

SPIE Proceedings, 2009
We propose a new method of synthesizing computer-generated holograms (CGHs) at an arbitrary viewpoint from multi-view images under a natural light environment. This method generates a CGH of an arbitrary viewpoint using multi-view images from randomly arranged cameras. The method is based on a distance transformation and a rotation of a light wave. The

Method for increasing the depth of field of images of flat transparencies reconstructed using synthesized holograms

Journal of optical technology, 2018
The influence of the parameters used in synthesizing hologram projectors on the distribution of complex amplitude in the planes of hologram synthesis and the reconstructed image is considered.
