One‐dimensional C4N2H14PbBr4 is shown to have a quasi‐direct electronic band structure and strongly anisotropic transport with polarized broadband emission. A GW/Bethe–Salpeter excited‐state force formalism, supported by polarized Raman and temperature‐dependent photoluminescence, identifies low–frequency Pb–Br phonons that drive ultrafast exciton self‐

Image Processing of Automatic Hologram Synthesizer for Medical Use.
An image processing system for providing original images for synthesizing multiplex holograms is developed. This system reconstructs 3D (three dimensional) surface rendering images, two surfaces rendering images and/or band selected Computed Tomography values’ projection images of internal organs and/or bones of a patient from a series of tomograms ...

Microfabrication using nano‐ to micron‐sized blocks has transformative potential for next‐gen electronics, optoelectronics, and materials. Traditional methods are limited by scalability and precision. STIC, a single‐laser system for precise colloid manipulation and immobilization using femtosecond lasers, is introduced that enables efficient 3D ...

New Creation Algorithm for Digitally Synthesized Holograms in Surface Model by Diffraction from Tilted Planes [PDF]
Novel method for synthesizing light waves from objects expressed in surface model is presented for fast creation of digitally synthetic holograms. This method has a feature of coordinates rotation in Fourier domain, in which only twice FFTs and an ...

It is currently not well understood how cells regulate basic properties, e.g., volume and mechanics within dense multicellular environments like tumors. Here, we show that different cell types of cancer and also normal cells largely decrease their nuclear and cellular volumes in emerging cell clusters and that this is partly driven by cell cycle shifts.

Microoptomechanical pumps assembled and driven by holographic optical vortex arrays
Beams of light with helical wavefronts can be focused into ring-like optical traps known as optical vortices. The orbital angular momentum carried by photons in helical modes can be transferred to trapped mesoscopic objects and thereby coupled to a ...
