Immunodiagnosis of Neurocysticercosis: Ways to Focus on the Challenge
Neurocysticercosis (NCC) is a disease of the central nervous system that is considered a public health problem in endemic areas. The definitive diagnosis of this disease is made using a combination of tools that include imaging of the brain and immunodiagnostic tests, but the facilities for performing them are usually not available in endemic areas ...

Fractal and Fractional SIS model for syphilis data [PDF]
This work studies the SIS model extended by fractional and fractal derivatives. We obtain explicit solutions for the standard and fractal formulations; for the fractional case, we study numerical solutions. As a real data example, we consider the Brazilian syphilis data from 2011 to 2021. We fit the data by considering the three variations of the model.

Quality Control Assessment of Canadian Laboratories Testing for Lyme Disease
In June 1990 a quality control assessment was undertaken of Canadian public health laboratories testing for antibodies to Borrelia burgdorferi, the etiological agent of Lyme disease. Twenty sera were distributed to nine laboratories, including 12 obtained from patients in Lyme endemic areas and presumed to be serological positives, and eight ...
