Layered shielding design for an active neutron interrogation system [PDF]

open access: yesRadiation Physics and Chemistry, 2016
Abstract The use of source and detector shields in active neutron interrogation can improve detector signal. In simulations, a shielded detector with a source rotated π/3 rad relative to the opening decreased neutron flux roughly three orders of magnitude. Several realistic source and detector shield configurations were simulated.

On-scalp MEG system utilizing an actively shielded array of optically-pumped magnetometers

open access: hybridNeuroImage, 2019
Abstract The spatial resolution of magnetoencephalography (MEG) can be increased from that of conventional SQUID-based systems by employing on-scalp sensor arrays of e.g. optically-pumped magnetometers (OPMs). However, OPMs reach sufficient sensitivity for neuromagnetic measurements only when operated in a very low absolute magnetic ...

Array of Active Shielding Coils for Magnetic Field Mitigation in Automotive Wireless Power Transfer Systems [PDF]

open access: goldEnergies
This paper deals with the mitigation of magnetic field levels produced by a wireless power transfer (WPT) system to recharge the battery of an electric vehicle (EV). In this work, an array of active coils surrounding the WPT coils is proposed as a mitigation technique. The theory and new methodological aspects are the focus of the paper. Magnetic field
