Concatenations of systematic polar codes with inner repeat accumulate codes
2016 25th Wireless and Optical Communication Conference (WOCC), 2016Polar codes, proposed by Erdal Arikan, have attracted a lot of interest in the field of channel coding for their capacity-achieving trait as well as their low encoding and decoding complexity of the order O(NlogN) under successive cancellation (SC) decoder.

On the encoding complexity of systematic polar codes
2015 28th IEEE International System-on-Chip Conference (SOCC), 2015Systematic polar codes are proposed by Arikan and are shown to have better BER performance than non-systematic polar codes. From a recursive decomposition of the generator matrix of polar codes, Arikan showed that the encoding complexity of systematic polar codes is also O(N log N) where N is the code block length.

Partial Systematic Polar Coding
2019Due to having a better performance of bit error rate (BER), systematic polar codes have been potentially applied in digital data transmission. In the systematic polar coding, source bits are transmitted transparently. In this paper, we propose a scheme of novel partial systematic polar coding in which the encoded codeword is only composed of partial ...

Systematic Polar Codes Based on 3x3 Kernel Matrix
2019 International Conference on Communications, Information System and Computer Engineering (CISCE), 2019In this paper, the construction of polar codes based on multidimensional kernel matrix is analyzed. In order to analyze the performance of the codes efficiently, the performance of systematic polar codes (SPCs) and non-systematic polar codes (NSPCs) constructed by 3×3 kernel matrix is analyzed.

Distributed compression of correlated sources using systematic Polar Codes
2016 9th International Symposium on Turbo Codes and Iterative Information Processing (ISTC), 2016Since their invention in 2009, Polar Codes have emerged as new near-capacity channel codes with a great potential of replacing turbo codes and low density parity check codes in a wide range of applications. This paper investigates the use of systematic polar codes in a distributed source coding application.

Distributed Joint Source-Channel Decoding Using Systematic Polar Codes
IEEE Communications Letters, 2018This letter proposes a novel joint decoding scheme for correlated sources using systematic polar codes. In the proposed scheme, each source independently encodes its message into a systematic polar code word and sends the codeword via a binary-input additive white Gaussian noise channel to the common destination, where adaptive cyclic redundancy check ...

IEEE INFOCOM 2020 - IEEE Conference on Computer Communications Workshops (INFOCOM WKSHPS), 2020
Deep space communications have characteristics such as long delay, easily broken link and high code error rate. In this paper, a Raptor-like rateless spinal coding scheme is proposed by concatenating the outer systematic polar code (SPC), so as to promote the error-correction performance for the deep space communications.

Throughput Improvement of Systematic Polar Coded MIMO-OFDM by Puncturing
2019 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC), 2019This paper proposes an improved puncturing scheme exploiting the feature of systematic polar codes and verifies its effectiveness in MIMO-OFDM transmission. Puncturing is the process of removing part of the encoded bits and can realize various coding rates to adopt to the channel condition.

A practical CRCs-ADSCL decoding scheme for systematic polar codes
2016 8th International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing (WCSP), 2016The systematic polar codes under successive cancellation list (SCL) decoding suffers from very high time and space complexity when list size becomes larger. Aimed at getting the tradeoff between error performance and algorithm complexity, a practical CRCs-ADSCL(Adaptive SCL) decoding scheme is proposed for systematic polar codes, in which CRC values ...
