Systematic Polar Codes Based on 3x3 Kernel Matrix

2019 International Conference on Communications, Information System and Computer Engineering (CISCE), 2019
In this paper, the construction of polar codes based on multidimensional kernel matrix is analyzed. In order to analyze the performance of the codes efficiently, the performance of systematic polar codes (SPCs) and non-systematic polar codes (NSPCs) constructed by 3×3 kernel matrix is analyzed.

Concatenations of systematic polar codes with inner repeat accumulate codes

2016 25th Wireless and Optical Communication Conference (WOCC), 2016
Polar codes, proposed by Erdal Arikan, have attracted a lot of interest in the field of channel coding for their capacity-achieving trait as well as their low encoding and decoding complexity of the order O(NlogN) under successive cancellation (SC) decoder.

A practical CRCs-ADSCL decoding scheme for systematic polar codes

2016 8th International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing (WCSP), 2016
The systematic polar codes under successive cancellation list (SCL) decoding suffers from very high time and space complexity when list size becomes larger. Aimed at getting the tradeoff between error performance and algorithm complexity, a practical CRCs-ADSCL(Adaptive SCL) decoding scheme is proposed for systematic polar codes, in which CRC values ...

Simple Hybrid ARQ Schemes Based on Systematic Polar Codes for IoT Applications

IEEE Communications Letters, 2017
Hybrid ARQ (H-ARQ) schemes enable wireless reliability with high transmission efficiency, which is demanded for battery-operated low-complexity applications, such as Internet of Things. We propose two schemes to enable type-II H-ARQ based on systematic polar codes.

Throughput Improvement of Systematic Polar Coded MIMO-OFDM by Puncturing

2019 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC), 2019
This paper proposes an improved puncturing scheme exploiting the feature of systematic polar codes and verifies its effectiveness in MIMO-OFDM transmission. Puncturing is the process of removing part of the encoded bits and can realize various coding rates to adopt to the channel condition.

Joint source and channel coding with systematic polar codes for wireless sensor communication in next generation networks

Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Humanized Computing, 2018
Polar codes have strongly entered into action within the standardization of the next generation 5G mobile communication systems, which are expected to be an enabling technology for the Internet of Things where networks with a large number of sensors have to handle massive connectivity demands.

Design of systematic polar coded selective-IR hybrid ARQ transmission for IoT

2017 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC), 2017
In this paper, hybrid automatic repeat request schemes with selective incremental redundancy (SIR-HARQ) are designed for systematic polar codes (SPC), which could be well implemented in the low-power consumption and low-complexity applications like Internet of Things (IoT).

Modified Pilot Selection for Systematic Polar Coded MIMO-OFDM Channel Estimation

2018 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems (ISPACS), 2018
This paper proposes a modified pilot selection for systematic polar coded MIMO-OFDM channel estimation. Polar codes provably achieve the theoretical limit for communication systems and systematic polar codes generate the codeword that has the same value of information bit. Using this property, an efficient channel estimation scheme was proposed; values
