Construction and Decoding of Product Codes with Non-Systematic Polar Codes [PDF]
Product codes are widespread in optical communications, thanks to their high throughput and good error-correction performance. Systematic polar codes have been recently considered as component codes for product codes. In this paper, we present a novel construction for product polar codes based on non-systematic polar codes.

Practical Design and Decoding of Parallel Concatenated Structure for Systematic Polar Codes
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2016In this paper, a parallel concatenated structure is proposed to improve the performance of polar codes in finite length in which multiblocks systematic polar codes (SPC) and recursive systematic convolutional codes (RSC) are combined. We first design a weighted iterative decoding algorithm for the proposed structure such that better bit error rate ...

Secret Key Cryptosystem Based on Non-systematic Polar Codes [PDF]
Polar codes are a new class of error correcting linear block codes, whose generator matrix is specified by the knowledge of transmission channel parameters, code length and code dimension. Moreover, regarding computational security, it is assumed that an attacker with a restricted processing power has unlimited access to the transmission media ...

Known Bits Puncturing for Systematic Polar Codes
2019 25th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC), 2019This paper proposes an improved puncturing scheme exploiting the feature of systematic polar codes. Puncturing is the process of removing part of the encoded bits and can realize various coding rates to adopt to the channel condition. However, the puncturing deteriorates BER performance because the removed bits are generally unknown at the receiving ...

Partial Systematic Polar Coding
2019Due to having a better performance of bit error rate (BER), systematic polar codes have been potentially applied in digital data transmission. In the systematic polar coding, source bits are transmitted transparently. In this paper, we propose a scheme of novel partial systematic polar coding in which the encoded codeword is only composed of partial ...

Abstract The Internet of Things (IoT) is becoming an increasingly growing topic of interest in the research community. Its requirements meet those of the next generation 5G mobile communication system which is expected to be an enabling technology for IoT, where networks of large numbers of sensors require massive connectivity demands. As polar codes

Distributed compression of correlated sources using systematic Polar Codes
2016 9th International Symposium on Turbo Codes and Iterative Information Processing (ISTC), 2016Since their invention in 2009, Polar Codes have emerged as new near-capacity channel codes with a great potential of replacing turbo codes and low density parity check codes in a wide range of applications. This paper investigates the use of systematic polar codes in a distributed source coding application.

Distributed Joint Source-Channel Decoding Using Systematic Polar Codes
IEEE Communications Letters, 2018This letter proposes a novel joint decoding scheme for correlated sources using systematic polar codes. In the proposed scheme, each source independently encodes its message into a systematic polar code word and sends the codeword via a binary-input additive white Gaussian noise channel to the common destination, where adaptive cyclic redundancy check ...
