Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Artin's Conjecture on Zeros of $p$-Adic Forms [PDF]
This is an exposition of work on Artin's Conjecture on the zeros of $p$-adic forms. A variety of lines of attack are described, going back to 1945. However there is particular emphasis on recent developments concerning quartic forms on the one hand, and ...

A numerical model resulting from irreversible thermodynamics for describing transport processes is introduced, focusing on thermodynamic activity gradients as the actual driving force for diffusion. Implemented in CUDA C++ and using CalPhaD methods for determining the necessary activity data, the model accurately simulates interdiffusion in aluminum ...

Asymptotic behavior of an optimal control system with two small singularly excitatory parameters
The subject of research in the article is dynamic control systems with optimal slow motions. The goal of the work is to obtain an asymptotic approximation of the control in the form of feedback, which, not being uniform in the domain of the system ...

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Quartic Forms in Many Variables [PDF]
We show that a quartic $p$-adic form with at least $3192$ variables possesses a non-trivial zero. We also prove new results on systems of cubic, quadratic and linear forms.

Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

On bid-price controls for network revenue management
We consider a network revenue management problem and advance its dual formulation. The dual formulation reveals that the (optimal) shadow price of capacity forms a nonnegative martingale.
