How to Understand LMMSE Transceiver Design for MIMO Systems From Quadratic Matrix Programming [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, a unified linear minimum mean-square-error (LMMSE) transceiver design framework is investigated, which is suitable for a wide range of wireless systems.

R-deformed Heisenberg algebra, anyons and d=2+1 supersymmetry [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
A universal minimal spinor set of linear differential equations describing anyons and ordinary integer and half-integer spin fields is constructed with the help of deformed Heisenberg algebra with reflection. The construction is generalized to some d=2+1

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.

CONTROL AND ESTIMATION FOR A CLASS OF IMPULSIVE DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS

open access: yesUral Mathematical Journal, 2019
The nonlinear dynamical control system with uncertainty in initial states and parameters is studied. It is assumed that the dynamic system has a special structure in which the system nonlinearity is due to the presence of quadratic forms in system ...

Dual-Loop Robust Attitude Control for an Aerodynamic System With Unknown Dynamic Model: Algorithm and Experimental Validation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This paper proposes two kinds of dual-loop nonlinear robust control strategies that are implemented on an open-loop unstable two-degree-of-freedom (2-DOF) helicopter system with unmodeled dynamics and uncertainties.

Superintegrable systems from block separation of variables and unified derivation of their quadratic algebras

open access: yes, 2019
We present a new method for constructing $D$-dimensional minimally superintegrable systems based on block coordinate separation of variables. We give two new families of superintegrable systems with $N$ ($N\leq D$) singular terms of the partitioned ...

Surface Tension Measurement of Ti‐6Al‐4V by Falling Droplet Method in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this article, the temperature‐dependent surface tension of free falling, oscillating Ti‐6Al‐4V droplets is investigated in both argon and monosilane doped, oxygen‐free atmosphere. Droplet temperature and oscillation are captured with one single high‐speed camera, and the surface tension is calculated with Rayleigh's formula.

Path integrals and wavepacket evolution for damped mechanical systems

open access: yes, 2006
Damped mechanical systems with various forms of damping are quantized using the path integral formalism. In particular, we obtain the path integral kernel for the linearly damped harmonic oscillator and a particle in a uniform gravitational field with ...

Numerical Modeling of Tank Cars Carrying Hazardous Materials With and Without Composite Metal Foam

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Large‐scale puncture models consisting of hazardous materials (HAZMATs) tank car with protective steel–steel composite metal foam (S–S CMF) are solved numerically. Tank car plate with added 10.91–13.33 mm thick S–S CMF layer does not puncture. Protective S–S CMF absorbs impact energy, reduces plate deformation, and prevents shear bands formation ...

The Balian--Low theorem for the symplectic form on ${\mathbb R}^{2d}$

open access: yes, 2002
In this paper we extend the Balian--Low theorem, which is a version of the uncertainty principle for Gabor (Weyl--Heisenberg) systems, to functions of several variables. In particular, we first prove the Balian--Low theorem for arbitrary quadratic forms.
