In vitro metabolism of T-2 toxin in rats [PDF]
T-2 toxin was rapidly converted in the 9,000 X g supernatant fraction of rat liver homogenate into HT-2 toxin, T-2 tetraol, and two unknown metabolites designated as TMR-1 and TMR-2. TMR-1 was characterized as 4-deacetylneosolaniol (15-acetoxy-3 alpha, 4 beta, 8 alpha-trihydroxy-12,13-epoxytrichothec-9-ene) by spectroscopic analyses.

Comparison of Apoptosis and Autophagy in Human Chondrocytes Induced by the T-2 and HT-2 Toxins
In this report, we have investigated the apoptosis and autophagy of chondrocytes induced by the T-2 and HT-2 toxins. The viability of chondrocytes was measured by the MTT assay.

JNK molecule is a toxic target for IPEC-J2 cell barrier damage induced by T-2 toxin
The most prevalent contaminated mycotoxin in feed and grain is T-2 toxin. The T-2 toxin's primary action target is the gut because it is the main organ of absorption.

T-2 Toxin Induces Oxidative Stress, Apoptosis and Cytoprotective Autophagy in Chicken Hepatocytes
T-2 toxin is type A trichothecenes mycotoxin, which produced by fusarium species in cereal grains. T-2 toxin has been shown to induce a series of toxic effects on the health of human and animal, such as immunosuppression and carcinogenesis.

New process for T-2 toxin production [PDF]
Strains of Fusarium produced high levels of T-2 toxin when cultured on certain media absorbed into vermiculite. Modified Gregory medium was nutritionally complex (2% soya meal, 0.5% corn steep liquor, 10% glucose) and, when inoculated with the appropriate fungal strain, yielded maximum T-2 toxin within 24 days of incubation at 19 degrees C.

T-2 toxin causes dysfunction of Sertoli cells by inducing oxidative stress
T-2 toxin is an inevitable mycotoxin in food products and feeds. It is a proven toxicant impairing the male reproductive system. However, previous studies have concentrated on the toxic effect of T-2 toxin on Leydig cells, with little attention on the ...

Mitochondrial Damage Induced by T-2 Mycotoxin on Human Skin—Fibroblast Hs68 Cell Line
T-2 toxin is produced by different Fusarium species and belongs to the group of type A trichothecene mycotoxins. T-2 toxin contaminates various grains, such as wheat, barley, maize, or rice, thus posing a risk to human and animal health.

Structure-function analysis of porcine cytochrome P450 3A29 in the hydroxylation of T-2 toxin as revealed by docking and mutagenesis studies. [PDF]
T-2 toxin, one of the type A trichothecenes, presents a potential hazard to human and animal health. Our previous work demonstrated that porcine cytochrome P450 3A29 (CYP3A29) played an important role in the hydroxylation of T-2 toxin.
