The role of T-bet in obesity: lack of T-bet causes obesity in male mice
The Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry, 2013The association of T helper (Th) 1 cells with obesity is well documented in both animals and humans. The T-box transcription factor (T-bet) is known as the transcription factor that is responsible for the development of Th1 cells. However, the role of T-bet in obesity has never been elucidated.

T-bet B or not T-bet B, is that the question in obesity-related metabolic disease?
Cell Metabolism, 2022Obesity is linked to inflammation and downstream metabolic dysregulation. In this issue of Cell Metabolism, Hägglöf et al. show that iNKT cells enable the accumulation of T-bet+ B cells in white adipose tissue, which in turn produce chemokine and antibody mediators that exacerbate the onset and severity of metabolic disease.

The path of the T-bet-ian CD8+ T cells
Nature Immunology, 2021The eradication of pathogens and establishment of immunological memory depend on the generation of both effector and long-lived memory cells within specialized immune niches. Whole-organ imaging demonstrates that, during viral infection, the fate of CD8+ T cells in lymph nodes is coupled to chemotactic signals controlling their distribution within ...

Trawling for treasure: tales of T-bet
Nature Immunology, 2007Discovering the transcription factors that direct lineage commitment in the T helper cell was a formidable task. Laurie Glimcher describes how she and Susanne Szabo hunted down T-bet, a transcription factor that is a 'master regulator' of commitment to the T helper type 1 lineage.

T-bet+ Memory B Cells Stay in Place
Immunity, 2020Memory B cells (MBCs) expressing the transcription factor T-bet have been described in normal and dysregulated immune responses. In this issue of Immunity, Johnson et al. report that T-bet+ MBCs, formed in response to a primary influenza infection, contribute to protective antibody titers and persist mainly in the spleen with restricted trafficking ...

Is T-bet a Potential Therapeutic Target in Multiple Sclerosis?
Journal of Interferon & Cytokine Research, 2014Treatments for multiple sclerosis (MS) have changed over the past years as our understanding of immunology and neuroscience has evolved. Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) continues to remain the major model for MS and has been a major vehicle in the development of new therapeutic targets for MS, including new agents such as natalizumab ...

[T-bet in peripheral T-cell lymphoma].
Zhonghua xue ye xue za zhi = Zhonghua xueyexue zazhi, 2018Objective: To evaluate the expression of transcription factor T-bet (T-box expressed in T cells) and explore its effects on prognosis in peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL). Methods: This study included 109 previously untreated patients diagnosed with PTCL in the pathology system at Peking Union Medical College Hospital from 2007 to 2013. Formalin-fixed,
