Integral formulation for elastodynamic T-stresses
International Journal of Fracture, 1997In this paper, a path independent integral formulation is presented for the computation of dynamic T-stresses in a two-dimensional body with a stationary crack. The mutual M-integral expressed through dynamic Ĵ-integrals provides sufficient information for determining T-stresses on the basis of the relationship found between the M-integral and T ...

T-Stresses Across Static Crack Kinking
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2006This paper is concerned with the T-stress change before and after crack kinking in two-dimensional elastic solids. By using asymptotic analysis and the Westergaard stress function method, approximate analytical formulas for calculating the T-stress as well as stress intensify factors of an infinitesimal kink are given.

The second term of stress field around a sharp V-notch under mode I loading was investigated. It was found that in the Cartesian coordinate system, unlike the T-stress in cracked bodies, the second term of Williams’ expansion in all three stress components is nonzero and its value depends on the distance from the notch tip.

T-stress solution for DCDC specimens
Engineering Fracture Mechanics, 2005Abstract A finite element study is performed in order to determine the T-stress term for DCDC specimens with holes set off from the specimen centre line. In addition, mixed-mode stress intensity factors KI and KII are given and the biaxiality ratio β is computed from T and KI. The T-stress results are fitted and presented in a simple relation.
