Assisted inflation via tachyon condensation
In this paper we propose a new mechanism of inflating the Universe with non-BPS D4-branes which decay into stable D3-branes via tachyon condensation. In a single brane scenario the tachyon potential is very steep and unable to support inflation. However,

Reheating from Tachyon Condensation [PDF]
We argue that it may be possible to reheat the universe after inflation driven by D-brane annihilation, due to the coupling of massless fields to the time-dependent tachyon condensate which describes the annihilation process. This mechanism can work if the original branes annihilate to a stable brane containing the standard model.

Tachyon condensation in string field theory [PDF]
It has been conjectured that at a stationary point of the tachyon potential for the D-brane of bosonic string theory, the negative energy density exactly cancels the D-brane tension.

Note on light-like tachyon condensation [PDF]
In this paper closed string emission and open string pair production from the light-like rolling tachyon solution are calculated in subcritical string theory in the background of a linear dilaton. The rolling light-like tachyon represents the inhomogeneous decay of unstable D-brane. The decay rate is given by the imaginary part of annulus diagram which

Cosmological Tachyon Condensation
2008We consider the dynamics of the open string tachyon condensation in a framework of the cubic fermionic String Field Theory including a non-minimal coupling with closed string massless modes, the graviton and the dilaton. We show explicitly that the influence of the dilaton on the tachyon condensation is essential and provides a significant effect ...
