Astrocytic TIA1‐Mediated Stress Granules Promote the Demyelination of Optic Neuritis by Sequestering mRNA of Cholesterol Synthesis Genes in an Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Astrocytic TIA1‐mediated stress granules (SGs) promote demyelination by sequestering the mRNA of cholesterol synthesis genes. In this model, astrocytic TIA1‐mediated SGs were increased in the optic nerves of EAE mice, leading to the downregulation of cholesterol synthesis genes such as HMGCS1 through sequestration of their mRNA into SGs, which ...

Dual‐Key Genetic Circuit Enables Stable and Self‐Regulated Engineered Bacteria for the Treatment of Ulcerative Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A self‐regulated Escherichia coli Nissle 1917 strain equipped with a dual‐key genetic circuit achieved antibiotic‐free stability and programmable lysis for therapeutic protein delivery. By co‐expressing an IL‐2 mutant and Amuc_1100, the engineered bacteria restored immune balance and epithelial integrity, providing a safe and precise approach for ...

G4‐Ligand‐Directed PROTACs Unveil DR1 as a Novel Ligand‐Co‐Binding G4‐Protein and Reshape G4‐Dependent Transcription

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
G4‐binding proteins (G4BPs) that specifically co‐bind G4s in the presence of small‐molecule ligands represent a critical but unexplored class of proteins. We introduce G4‐Ligand‐Directed PROTACs (G4L‐TACs), a chemical platform that couples G4 ligands (PDS) to E3 recruiters to selectively degrade these ligand‐co‐binding G4BPs.

Neural mechanisms underlying the after-effects of repetitive paired-pulse TMS with β tACS on the human primary motor cortex

open access: yesScientific Reports
We previously reported that repetitive paired-pulse transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS; rPPS) synchronized to the peak phase of transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) at the β frequency induced long-lasting after-effects on primary motor

Cells Dynamically Adapt Their Nuclear Volumes and Proliferation Rates During Single to Multicellular Transitions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
It is currently not well understood how cells regulate basic properties, e.g., volume and mechanics within dense multicellular environments like tumors. Here, we show that different cell types of cancer and also normal cells largely decrease their nuclear and cellular volumes in emerging cell clusters and that this is partly driven by cell cycle shifts.

Genotype-phenotypic association of heterozygous deletion of the TBX-6 gene in patients with congenital scoliosis

open access: yesГений oртопедии
Introduction Congenital scoliosis is a multifactorial disease caused by abnormalities in vertebral development during embryogenesis. The TBX6 gene, located at locus 16p11.2, plays a key role in somitogenesis, and the heterozygous deletion is associated

Frequency-Unspecific Effects of θ-tACS Related to a Visuospatial Working Memory Task [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Working memory (WM) is crucial for intelligent cognitive functioning, and synchronization phenomena in the fronto-parietal network have been suggested as an underlying neural mechanism.

A CLE11b‐CLE16 Signaling Relay Mediates Root‐Shoot‐Root Crosstalk for Drought Adaptation in Common Bean

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel root‐shoot‐root signaling relay, mediated by CLE peptides, coordinates drought adaptation in common bean. Root‐derived PvCLE11b translocates acropetally to leaves, inducing PvCLE16 expression via PvTCP10. Leaf‐accumulated PvCLE16 triggers stomatal closure and translocates basipetally to modulate root architecture.

Synergistic Pyro‐Phototronics and Structural Anisotropy in CsAg2I3/GaN Heterostructures for High‐Performance Polarization‐Sensitive UV Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The development of polarization‐sensitive ultraviolet photodetectors is limited by poor heterojunction quality and low polarization sensitivity. This study integrates synthesized CsAg2I3 single crystals with intrinsic non‐centrosymmetry into van der Waals heterojunction devices, demonstrating pronounced pyro‐phototronic effect.

tACS entrains neural activity while somatosensory input is blocked.

open access: yesPLoS Biology, 2020
Transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) modulates brain activity by passing electrical current through electrodes that are attached to the scalp.
