Cobalt‐Doped Biphasic Calcium Phosphate Orchestrates Osteogenesis‐Angiogenesis Signals via Hypoxia‐Mimetic Signaling

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part A, Volume 114, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT We engineered a cobalt‐doped biphasic calcium phosphate (CoBCP) by combining monetite‐derived pyrophosphate and β‐tricalcium phosphate (β‐TCP) with lattice‐incorporated Co2+, and evaluated its physicochemical profile and in vitro bioactivity relevant to bone regeneration.

Beware the Artifact: Generation of Ellagic Acid and Related Species During Atmospheric Solid Analysis Probe (ASAP) Measurements of Iron Gall Inks and Tannins in the Negative Ionization Mode

open access: yesJournal of Mass Spectrometry, Volume 61, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT A detailed comparative analysis of the results of atmospheric solid analysis probe (ASAP) mass spectrometry of inks, tannins, and gallic acid (GA) in the negative ionization mode was performed. Results obtained for tannin by ASAP have been compared with those obtained with electrospray ionization (ESI).

Emerging Antimicrobial Resistance in Klebsiella pneumoniae: A Molecular and Antibiogram Insight From the Beef Value Chain in Bangladesh

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 2, April 2026.
A total of 132 Multidrug‐resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae was detected across the beef value chain in Bangladesh, including slaughterhouses, wet markets, and ready‐to‐eat beef outlets. Upon cultural traits, PCR, 16S rRNA sequencing, antibiogram analysis, and ARG detection revealed carbapenem resistance genes (blaIMP and blaBIC), highlighting foodborne ...

High‐Purity Functional Corneal Endothelial Cells From Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells via a Novel Wash‐Out Method

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
iPSC‐derived corneal endothelial cells purified via a novel wash‐out method show high functional fidelity, resemble primary CECs, and restore corneal clarity in vivo, offering a scalable alternative to donor transplantation. ABSTRACT Corneal endothelial failure can cause blindness, with transplantation as the only treatment.

Extracellular and Membrane Protein: Structure, Biological Functions, Diseases, and an Emerging Modality for Drug Discovery

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
Targeted protein degradation represents a paradigm shift from traditional protein inhibition to complete protein elimination. This is achieved through three main strategies for degrading extracellular and membrane proteins: recruitment of cell‐surface LTRs, engagement of intracellular proteins, and receptor‐independent mechanisms.

Apigenin Protects H9c2 Cells Against Oxygen–Glucose Deprivation/Reperfusion Injury by Regulating Autophagy via the HIF‐1α/miR‐20a Axis

open access: yesPharmacology Research &Perspectives, Volume 14, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT As living standards improve and the population ages, cardiovascular disease poses a significant threat to human health. Apigenin, a flavonoid compound found in many fruits and vegetables native to warm climates, is named after celery because it is found in the highest concentrations in this plant.
