Microbial Safety of Legumes—A Review: Bacterial Contamination, Foodborne Outbreaks, and Traditional and Innovative Mitigation Strategies

open access: yesLegume Science, Volume 8, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Demand for plant‐based foods, including legumes, is growing as a result of consumer preferences shifting toward food sustainability and plant‐based, protein‐rich foods. However, to ensure the food safety of such alternatives, assessing the prevalence of foodborne pathogens related to these products is critical, especially with their increasing

Integrating Physiological and Biochemical Traits to Identify Drought‐Resilient Guar Genotypes Through MGIDI Analysis

open access: yesLegume Science, Volume 8, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Guar (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba L.) is a drought‐tolerant crop and an important source of gum and bioactive compounds. The present study was conducted to investigate the response of 15 different guar genotypes under three soil moisture levels (100%, 70%, and 45% FC).

Redox Regulation and Oxidative Stress in Health and Disease: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Targeting

open access: yesMedComm – Future Medicine, Volume 5, Issue 2, June 2026.
Reactive species serve crucial roles which are tightly regulated in both physiological as well as disease states. At physiological levels, these species are integral to redox signaling, while uncontrolled redox promotes disease pathology. This review examines the dysregulation of these processes.

Hydrogen Gas Therapy in Schizophrenia: Potential Neuroprotective Effects From an Animal Study

open access: yesNeuropsychopharmacology Reports, Volume 46, Issue 2, June 2026.
Hydrogen gas inhalation restored antioxidant capacity in a schizophrenia‐like mouse model but did not significantly improve behavioral deficits. These findings suggest that hydrogen may have potential as an adjunct therapy targeting oxidative stress in psychiatric disorders.
