Hierarchical multi‐material TPMS lattices are engineered as flexible tactile sensors by combining soft and stiff elastomeric layers with a conformal conductive coating. The bilayer architecture delivers sensitivity at low pressures while maintaining a broad detectable range under large loads, enabling reliable pressure and vibration monitoring for ...

Object manipulation based on tactile information
In-hand dexterous manipulation of an object is the ability to change the configuration (position and/or orientation) of an object held in the hand. This is an ability that has allowed humans to use tools and interact with the environment effectively. For the past decades, robotics researchers have worked to provide dexterous manipulation skills to the

Skin‐Like Tri‐Modal Sensors Based on Soft Piezoelectric and Ionic Composites
Inspired by the multimodal perception of human skin, a soft, skin‐like tri‐modal sensor is presented. The device incorporates an ionically conductive, piezoelectric, elastic composite as its active layer, enabling independent detection of temperature, static strain, and dynamic strain within a single two‐terminal architecture.

A soft robotic simulator is developed to replicate the digital removal of feces (DRF), a sensitive yet essential nursing procedure. Integrating soft actuators, sensors, and a realistic rectal model, the simulator balances functional fidelity with perceptual realism. Engineering evaluations and nurse feedback confirm its potential to enhance training in

Kinesthetic information facilitates saccades towards proprioceptive-tactile targets
Saccades to somatosensory targets have longer latencies and are less accurate and precise than saccades to visual targets. Here we examined how different somatosensory information influences the planning and control of saccadic eye movements. Participants fixated a central cross and initiated a saccade as fast as possible in response to a tactile ...

Remote Control of Hand Actuators via Glove Sensors for Medical Care Applications
This study presents a novel textile‐based sensory glove–actuator system for remote medical care, explored through finite element simulations. By integrating capacitive sensors, pneumatic actuators, and machine learning, the system models real‐time hand movement control.

Our mental representation of our body depends on integrating various sensory modalities, such as tactile information. In tactile distance estimation (TDE) tasks, participants must estimate the distance between two tactile tips applied to their skin. This
