Interactions audio-tactiles et perception de la parole : Comparaisons entre sujets aveugles et voyants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
International audienceThe present study investigated whether manual tactile information from a speaker's face modulates the decoding of speech when audio-tactile perception is compared with audio-only perception.

Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

Enhancing the performance of point cloud completion assisted with tactile information

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Image and Video Processing
Point cloud completion is a crucial task in the field of 3D imaging and is becoming a current research hotspot. However, traditional point cloud completion methods often fail to accurately restore the local details of objects due to the lack of detailed ...

Displays for supervisory control of manipulators [PDF]

open access: yes
The problem of displaying information generated by sensors attached to the terminal device of a remotely controlled manipulator is considered. The sensors under consideration are proximity, force-torque, tactile and slip-page sensors. The paper describes

Autonomous Locomotion of Tensegrity Structure on Low‐Temperature Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A low‐temperature responsive tensegrity structure (LRTS) is constructed by integrating low‐responsive temperature liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) cables, nonresponsive cables, and stiff rods. The low phase transition temperature of LCE is achieved by introducing a new liquid crystal mesogen.

Auditory–Tactile Congruence for Synthesis of Adaptive Pain Expressions in RoboPatients

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this work, we explore auditory–tactile congruence for synthesizing adaptive vocal pain expressions in robopatients. Using a robopatient platform that integrates vocal pain sounds with palpation forces, we conducted 7680 trials across 20 participants.

A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.
