Antennas for RFID tags

Proceedings of the 2005 joint conference on Smart objects and ambient intelligence: innovative context-aware services: usages and technologies, 2005
This communication covers the design and optimization of antennas for RFID tags at UHF and microwave frequencies. Such design will focus on the specific characteristics of RFID applications such as back-scattering mode, variability of substrates and low cost constraints. The introduction includes a short history of RFID development.

Asymmetric RFID tag antenna

2006 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2006
This paper presents the design of an asymmetric RFID antenna with length smaller than /spl lambda//4 and at the same time achieves the special requirement of the input impedance and also balanced input feed for the tag chip circuit. The antenna has been fabricated and tested by a network analyzer. The antenna design and its performance are presented in

Impedence characterization of RFID tag antennas and application in conformal tag antenna

2015 7th Asia-Pacific Conference on Environmental Electromagnetics (CEEM), 2015
In the present work a method is proposed which enables accurate and effective reliability tests of impedance measurement of tag antenna directly by extracting S parameters from the double coaxial test device. The experimental and simulated impedance of tag antenna are presented in this paper, under the condition of UHF Passive tag and long-distance ...

Multi-Antenna Directional Backscatter Tags

2018 48th European Microwave Conference (EuMC), 2018
A directional backscatter tag is proposed to enhance the range of backscattering communications. The tag uses multiple antennas acting as a reflectarray by configuring constant phase gradients depending on the direction of arrival (DoA) of the signal. The DoA is determined using RSSI measurements across different tag reflection configuration.
