Minkowski Fractal Microstrip Antenna for RFID Tags

2008 38th European Microwave Conference, 2008
The unique properties of fractals have been exploited to develop a new class of antenna element designs that are multi band and compact in size. These properties are very important for RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) tags where the small size, planar geometries, multi band operation and low cost are essential for many applications.

Microstrip Dipole UHF-RFID Tag Antenna for Metal Object Tagging

2016 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering (ICCCE), 2016
Two designs of microstrip dipole ultra-high-frequency (UHF) RFID tag antenna which can be used for metal object tagging are presented. The antennas, which have a very simple structure without any shorting pin and shorting plate, are composed of meander and ladder feed lines, rectangular loop, capacitive tip-loading and T-match structure. In addition, a

Optimization of passive RFID tag antennas

2008 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2008
In this paper, the overall optimization of the antenna impedance of an RFID tag has been considered, under both the power delivery and the backscattering viewpoints. Based on the reciprocity principle, the formulation used does not make any free space nor far field approximation.

RFID integrated QR code tag antenna

2015 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium, 2015
This paper presents an entirely new RFID tag antenna design that incorporates the QR (Quick Response) code for security purposes. The tag antenna is designed to work at 2.45 GHz frequency. The RFID integrated QR code tag antenna is printed with an additive material deposition system that enables to produce a low cost tag antenna with extended security.

Compact circularly polarized loop tag antenna

2015 IEEE 4th Asia-Pacific Conference on Antennas and Propagation (APCAP), 2015
A compact loop tag antenna with circularly polarized radiation for the UHF band RFID application is proposed. To achieve compact size and CP radiation, a loop with meander lines is embedded with an open gap. The measured 10-dB impedance bandwidth of the tag antenna is 915–942 MHz, and its 3-dB axial-ratio bandwidth is 921–929 MHz.

A Novel Wideband RFID Tag Antenna

2010 International Conference on Logistics Engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2010
This paper presents a RFID tag antenna at 900MHz which has a wide frequency band, meeting that of Chinese standard from 860MHz to 960MHz, and it possesses easy conjugate impedance matching property by adopting an arc-shaped feeding. With a typical antenna impedance of Monza3 (Impinj), the proposed tag of compact size 30x70mm2 has a stable performance ...

Environmental Effects on RFID Tag Antennas

IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2005., 2005
We have studied the effects of nearby objects on the read range of several types of RFID tags, and the impedance, pattern, and radiative efficiency of antennas that closely emulate the tag structures, using measurements and simulations. We find that the main reason for the decrease in read range at perpendicular incidence in close proximity to metals ...

Extremely Small Antennas for RFID Tags

2006 10th IEEE Singapore International Conference on Communication Systems, 2006
Recently, UHF RFID tags are planned to commercialize in many countries. Requests for smaller size antennas are becoming strong. Promising candidates for these requests are meander line antennas (MLA) and normal mode helical antennas (NMHA). In this paper, extremely small MLA and NMHA are developed.

A Novel RFID Tag Dipole Antenna

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
There is a problem in normal meander line antenna (MLA) that it is difficult to get performances of miniaturization, high efficiency and high inductance at the same time. A simple novel antenna design for this challenge is described. Two capacitive loads are added at the end of MLA to adjust the impendence.

A Metamaterial-Inspired RFID Tag Antenna

2019 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology (ICMMT), 2019
A metamaterial-inspired planar antenna for passive UHF radio frequency identification (RFID) tags is presented in this paper. The tag antenna consists of a printed dipole and a pair of lying S-shaped elements. The dipole is fed by a microchip with a T-matching structure.
