Spatial distribution and interannual variability of catches for pink salmon of artificial origin in the waters of eastern coast of Sakhalin Island in modern times

open access: yesИзвестия ТИНРО, 2021
Mixed herds of pink salmon including the fish of both artificial and natural origin are exploited by fishery in many areas of Sakhalin Island. To separate the fish of different origin, large-scale tagging of the juveniles otoliths is conducted at salmon ...

Directional preference of European lobster (Homarus gammarus) movements on the Yorkshire Coast

open access: yesJournal of Fisheries, 2016
Recaptures of 838 tagged Homarus gammarus individuals identified a directional preference, with bearings from release to recapture concentrated along a North-West to South-East axis, aligning with the predominant current direction for the study site.

Flavor Tagging at Tevatron incl. calibration and control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This report summarizes the flavor tagging techniques developed at the CDF and D{\O}experiments. Flavor tagging involves identification of the B meson flavor atproduction, whether its constituent is a quark or an anti-quark.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

An efficient method for image archiving: Tagging images with structered keywords

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Plastic Surgery, 2020
Photographic documentation is an integral part of plastic surgery practice. While there are reports in the literature that discuss photographic documentation and archive security, it is hard to find studies on image archiving and searching.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Aboriginal fisher perspectives on use of biotelemetry technology to study adult Pacific salmon

open access: yesKnowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems, 2012
Biotelemetry has become a popular tool accepted by the scientific community as a reliable approach for studying wild fish. However, stakeholder perspectives on scientific techniques and the information they generate are not uniformly positive. Aboriginal
