Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

The Overlap between the Descriptors of the Library Articles in LISTA Database and the Tags Assigned to the Same Articles in Folksonomy of Citeulike [PDF]

open access: yesبازیابی دانش و نظام‌های معنایی, 2016
In this study, the amount of overlap between the descriptors of the library articles in LISTA database, and the tags assigned to the same articles inFolksonomy ofCiteulikewill be studied.

Assignment of tracks from tagged Atlantic bluefin tuna Thunnus thynnus to potential stocks using behavioural differences and habitat partitioning

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2023
IntroductionAtlantic bluefin tuna (ABT) are large, migratory pelagic predators of high economic importance. ABT are currently managed as two independent stocks assigned to discrete spawning areas (Gulf of Mexico, and Mediterranean); however, stock ...

Playing Tag with ANN: Boosted Top Identification with Pattern Recognition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Many searches for physics beyond the Standard Model at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) rely on top tagging algorithms, which discriminate between boosted hadronic top quarks and the much more common jets initiated by light quarks and gluons. We note that

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Effects of artificial light at night on the mobility of the sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus

open access: yesMarine and Fishery Sciences, 2023
Light pollution poses a significant global threat to biodiversity, driven by the increasing coastal urbanization and the resulting growth of artificial light at night (ALAN).

Joint Extraction of Entities and Relations Based on a Novel Tagging Scheme

open access: yes, 2017
Joint extraction of entities and relations is an important task in information extraction. To tackle this problem, we firstly propose a novel tagging scheme that can convert the joint extraction task to a tagging problem.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

General audio tagging with ensembling convolutional neural network and statistical features

open access: yes, 2018
Audio tagging aims to infer descriptive labels from audio clips. Audio tagging is challenging due to the limited size of data and noisy labels. In this paper, we describe our solution for the DCASE 2018 Task 2 general audio tagging challenge.
