Nonparametric estimation of extremal dependence [PDF]
There is an increasing interest to understand the dependence structure of a random vector not only in the center of its distribution but also in the tails.

From cellular properties to population asymptotics in the Population Balance Equation
Proliferating cell populations at steady state growth often exhibit broad protein distributions with exponential tails. The sources of this variation and its universality are of much theoretical interest.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

This thesis presents the concept of tail dependence in a financial context as one tool to measure dependence in the extremes of a bivariate distribution. Copulae can separate the problem of estimating a multidimensional distribution into the estimation of the marginal distributions and the dependence between the onedimensional random variables ...

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Spatial Tail Dependence and Survival Stability in a Class of Archimedean Copulas
This paper investigates properties of extensions of tail dependence of Archimax copulas to high dimensional analysis in a spatialized framework. Specifically, we propose a characterization of bivariate margins of spatial Archimax processes while spatial ...

Overreaction and Multiple Tail Dependence at the High-frequency Level — The Copula Rose [PDF]
This paper applies a non- and a semiparametric copula-based approach to analyze the first-order autocorrelation of returns in high frequency financial time series.

Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Properties of Hierarchical Archimedean Copulas [PDF]
In this paper we analyse the properties of hierarchical Archimedean copulas. This class is a generalisation of the Archimedean copulas and allows for general non-exchangeable dependency structures. We show that the structure of the copula can be uniquely

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
