Optically confined gold nanorods exhibit cooperative light‐driven dynamics, forming mobile end‐to‐end dimers with orientation‐dependent propulsion. Using structured laser traps and an opto‐thermo‐hydrodynamic model, we uncover how optical binding, polarization‐induced torque, and near‐surface hydrodynamics govern their motion.

Model predictive control architecture for rotorcraft inverse simulation [PDF]
A novel inverse simulation scheme is proposed for applications to rotorcraft dynamic models. The algorithm adopts an architecture that closely resembles that of a model predictive control scheme, where the controlled plant is represented by a high-order ...

Interactional aerodynamics and acoustics of a hingeless coaxial helicopter with an auxiliary propeller in forward flight [PDF]
The aerodynamics and acoustics of a generic coaxial helicopter with a stiff main rotor system and a tail- mounted propulsor are investigated using Brown's Vorticity Transport Model.

A theory for the interaction between a boundary layer and a low mountain is used to provide estimates of the turbulent orographic form drag, upward‐propagating mountain gravity‐wave drag, and trapped lee‐wave drag (case shown in the figure). After reviewing briefly how these processes are represented in weather and climate models, we propose a ...

Development in helicopter tail boom strake applications in the US [PDF]
The use of a strake or spoiler on a helicopter tail boom to beneficially change helicopter tail boom air loads was suggested in the United States in 1975.

Actuation Strategies for Underwater Jet‐Propelled Soft Robots
ABSTRACT This review article examines jet‐propulsion mechanisms in underwater soft robotic systems, focusing exclusively on physically fabricated and experimentally validated robots. Covering research published from 2013 to 2025, this study classifies and evaluates jet‐propulsion robots based on their actuation mechanisms.

ASPECTS REGARDING INTERLAMINAR STRESS DISTRIBUTION ON THE COMPOSITE LAMINATED SKIN OF A TAIL ROTOR BLADE EXPOSED TO AERODYNAMIC FORCES [PDF]
In realizing a high-performance composite material, it is important to take into consideration all the factors that influence the structural response of the component when exposed to service conditions.
