Adolescent Fracture of the Talus Associated With Talus Partitus

Journal of Surgical Orthopaedic Advances, 2013
A case report of an adolescent with a fracture of the talus with an associated talus partitus is presented. Unlike the more common os trigonum, which arises from a secondary ossification center, the talus partitus is substantially larger and may include articulation with the ankle and subtalar joint, making its preservation via osteosynthesis with the ...

FRACTURES OF THE TALUS

The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, 1948
1. The circulation to the talus is deficient, but clinical evidence would indicate that the blood supply enters through the many ligamentous attachments of the talus, and not solely through the articular branch from the dorsalis pedis artery, which enters the superolateral aspect of the neck of the talus. 2.

Injuries to the Talus

Clinics in Podiatry, 1985
The unique anatomic, functional, and vascular aspects of the talus predispose the area to difficulty in the management of its injuries. This article provides a practical guide to the treatment of fractures and dislocations of the talus.

CONGENITAL VERTICAL TALUS

Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, 1985
This series consisted of 15 congenital vertical tali in 12 patients, 11 of which were treated surgically and the remainder conservatively. Talus Verticalis (Vertical Talus)

[The complete dislocation of the talus or «missing talus».]

Revue medicale de Liege, 2021
The complete dislocation of the talus or «missing talus» corresponds to a simultaneous dislocation of the tibiotalar, talocalcaneal and talonavicular joints, without associated talar fracture. This lesion occurs as part of high energy trauma and accounts for 3 to 5 % of talus injuries. It is most frequently anterolateral and in more than 75 % of cases,

Turret Exostosis of the Talus

Orthopedics, 2010
Turret exostosis is a benign osteocartilagenous lesion believed to arise from reactive perisoteum following relatively mild trauma. This article presents an unusual case of a turret exostosis of the talar neck in a 12-year-old child. A healthy adolescent presented with a 5-month history of a firm, painless mass about the anteromedial aspect of the ...

The Arterial Anatomy of the Talus

Foot & Ankle, 1983
The extraosseous and intraosseous vascularity of the talus was studied in 26 fresh cadaver limbs. The specimens were injected with latex or Batson's compound, debrided by a nondissection technique, and cleared by a modified Spalteholz method. The extraosseous vascularity was through the branches of the three major regional arteries which entered the ...

[Frontal talus cleft--talus bipartitus].

Zeitschrift fur Orthopadie und ihre Grenzgebiete, 1987
To our knowledge, only three patients with a frontal split of the talus have been reported so far. We report on a sixteen year old patient who had some discomfort and restriction of movement in the ankle joint. X-ray examination showed an articular link between the ankle and subtalar joint. As regards the etiology, trauma, avascular necrosis, accessory
