Salt glands of recretohalophyte Tamarix under salinity: Their evolution and adaptation
In conclusion, Tamarix species can be divided into three types demonstrating salt tolerance in the order type I > type II > type III; this was confirmed by phylogenetic relationships based on ITS sequences. Salt‐gland evolution has occurred in two directions: one to increase the density of salt glands under low salinity environments, and the other to ...

Cadmium (Cd) pollution is widely detected in soil and has been recognized as a major environmental problem. Tamarix hispida is a woody halophyte, which can form natural forest on the desert and soil with 0.5 to 1% salt content, making it an ideal plant ...

Seventeen new microsatellites for Tamarix gallica and cross‐amplification in Tamarix species
Premise Microsatellite markers were developed for the western Mediterranean tree Tamarix gallica (Tamaricaceae) as part of a study of its genetic diversity and structure. Methods and Results Seventeen microsatellite markers were developed for T. gallica, 14 of which were polymorphic.

Biologically Active Terpenoids fromTamarix Species
We carried out research of bioactive substances obtained from ethanol extract (70%). This ethanol extract (70%) was obtained by us from the aerial parts of Tamarix plants (Т.laxa Willd., T.hispida Willd., T.ramosissima Ledeb.

Expression, purification and characterization of a peroxidase from Tamarix hispida
Peroxidase is one of the key enzymes of the cellular antioxidant defense system, which is mostly involved in the reduction of hydrogen peroxide. Here, a peroxidase gene, named ThPOD1 was isolated from a cDNA library, which was generated from root tissue of Tamarix hispida that was exposed to 0.4 M NaCl.
