Age, Age‐Related Comorbidities and Survival in Palbociclib, Ribociclib and Abemaciclib Users With Advanced Breast Cancer: A Nation‐Wide Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesPharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety, Volume 35, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Prevalence of breast cancer (BC) increases with age, but the external validity of data obtained from pivotal trials of medicinal products remains a concern due to the underrepresentation of frail and older adults. Cyclin‐dependent kinase inhibitors (CDKi), palbociclib, abemaciclib, and ribociclib are considered an essential part of the

Granulosa Cell Tumour in a Spayed Cat With Ovarian Remnant Syndrome and Hyperestrogenaemia Without Estrus Signs

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Granulosa cell tumour arising from ovarian remnant tissue can occur in spayed cats without overt estrus signs, despite marked hyperestrogenaemia. In this case, CT showed a large abdominal mass contiguous with ovarian vasculature; surgery and histopathology confirmed granulosa cell tumour with hepatic metastasis.

Oxidative Stress Induced Senescent Macrophage‐Driven Squamous Cell Carcinoma Invasion via Glutamine Metabolic Reprogramming

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 7, July 2026.
Oxidative stress induces GLS2‐dependent IL‐1β secretion in senescent macrophages, promoting SCC invasion through the IL‐1β/IL‐1R2 axis. Targeting IL‐1β suppresses invasion more effectively than GLS2 inhibition, highlighting a potential therapeutic strategy for SCC.

Sustained Hypoxia‐Inducible Factor 1‐Alpha Accumulation Disrupts the Articular Niche to Promote Osteoarthritis Pathogenesis

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 7, July 2026.
Sustained HIF‐1α accumulation is not a compensatory shield, but a potent pathogenic driver of osteoarthritis. Continuous HIF‐1α signaling physically eradicates the avascular cartilage niche and primes the synovium for inflammation, establishing HIF‐1α as a critical target for disease‐modifying therapies.

Endothelial Netrin‐4 regulates oligodendrocyte precursor cell proliferation and differentiation via ET‐1 signaling in preterm white matter injury

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 4, July 2026.
Our findings show early increased Netrin‐4 in mice with PWMI boosts angiogenesis and OPCs proliferation. Later, high levels hinder OPCs differentiation into mature cells, impairing myelination. It may act by stimulating ET‐1 secretion. Abstract Perinatal hypoxia–ischemia is a leading cause of preterm white matter injury (PWMI), yet mechanisms ...

Association of Semaglutide Treatment With Liver Cirrhosis and Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Type 2 Diabetes: A Population‐Based Cohort Study

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 7, Page 5704-5714, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease is common among individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus and substantially increases the risk of liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Effective therapies that improve metabolic control while preventing advanced liver outcomes are limited.
