A generalized tamper localization approach for reversible watermarking algorithms

ACM Transactions on Multimedia Computing, Communications and Applications, 2013
In general reversible watermarking algorithms, the convention is to reject the entire cover image at the receiver end if it fails authentication, since there is no way to detect the exact locations of tampering. This feature may be exploited by an adversary to bring about a form of DoS attack.

Tamper localization of the medical images based on fragile watermarking

2017 25th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2017
Flexible usage and easy acquisition of image processing software has made "tamper localization in medical images" a popular area. Medical Image Watermarking (MIW), which is one of the recommended methods in this area, relies on embedding additional information into the original image. In general, the medical image is separated into two parts called ROI

A novel reversible fragile watermarking method in DWT domain for tamper localization and digital image authentication

open access: yesBiomedical Signal Processing and Control, 2023
Medical images are extremely valuable and sensitive data because of their significance in research, diagnosis, and treatment. However, the transmission of medical images over an unsecured network can lead to security issues such as modification,

The usage of block average intensity in tamper localization for image watermarking [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Tamper localization capable image watermarking scheme is able to detect the location of manipulated areas, and verify other areas as authentic. The usage of block average intensity in the tamper localization process is one of the popular techniques due ...

Multi-Clue Image Tampering Localization

2014 IEEE International Workshop on Information Forensics and Security (WIFS), 2014
Image tampering is nowadays at everyone’s reach. This has determined an urgent need of tools capable of revealing such alterations. Unfortunately, while forgeries can be operated in many different ways, forensic tools usually focus on one specific kind of forgeries.

A secure image watermarking for tamper detection and localization

Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Humanized Computing, 2020
Data security has become a major concern of present time. Digital image watermarking is seen as a viable solution to ensure the integrity of image data. Watermarking algorithms can detect the presence of various attacks on images. In this work, a secure and efficient fragile image watermarking technique is proposed.

Local tampering detection in video sequences

2013 IEEE 15th International Workshop on Multimedia Signal Processing (MMSP), 2013
Video sequences are often believed to provide stronger forensic evidence than still images, e.g., when used in lawsuits. However, a wide set of powerful and easy-to-use video authoring tools is today available to anyone. Therefore, it is possible for an attacker to maliciously forge a video sequence, e.g., by removing or inserting an object in a scene.

Local Geometry Analysis For Image Tampering Detection

2020 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2020
In this paper, we propose a compliant scheme of image hashing that is based on gradient measurement. The proposed approach relies on a local geometry variation analysis in multi-channel images. Derivative filters are used to estimate the image gradient and a suitable representation of geometric color features is introduced.

Image Tampering Localization Based on Superpixel Segmentation

2020 International Conferences on Internet of Things (iThings) and IEEE Green Computing and Communications (GreenCom) and IEEE Cyber, Physical and Social Computing (CPSCom) and IEEE Smart Data (SmartData) and IEEE Congress on Cybermatics (Cybermatics), 2020
With the rapid development of image editing software such as Photoshop and GIMP, image tampering becomes simpler than ever before without living obvious traces. Photo response non-uniformity (PRNU) is a kind of camera fingerprint, which has always been an effective tool for image forgery detection.

Fragile video watermarking for tampering detection and localization

2015 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communications and Informatics (ICACCI), 2015
Authentication is required to decide the originality of video signal. In this paper we proposed effective fragile video watermarking technique to embed and extract watermark in DCT domain with high capacity and transparency. Two watermarks are embedded into each frame.
