A gap‐free genome assembly and multi‐omics comparison of the terrestrial slug Laevichaulis alte with an aquatic relative reveal that expansion of the VEGF family orchestrates mucus production, lipid metabolism, and immune defense—highlighting key molecular innovations for conquering life on land.

We present a chromosome‐level genome assembly of Siraitia grosvenorii and, through comparative genomics, uncover a conserved UGT73 tandem array driving triterpenoid saponin diversification in Cucurbitaceae. Crystalized SgUGT73AM30 further reveals the regioselectivity mechanism underlying its catalytic activity.

Mild phenotype due to tandem duplication of l7p11.2
We present a mildly affected girl with de novo dup(17)(p11.2p11.2). The patient was evaluated because of minor anomalies noted during a hospitalization for nonrecurrent tonic-clonic seizures associated with transient hypoglycemia. She also had unilateral renal hypoplasia and relative short stature, but at 2 years of age, she scored within the low ...

On the duplication distance of binary strings
We study the tandem duplication distance between binary sequences and their roots. This distance is motivated by genomic tandem duplication mutations and counts the smallest number of tandem duplication events that are required to take one sequence to ...

Our experimental evidence supports a model in which ALO targets the HSPA8‐CMA‐ATP6V1A axis to induce lysosomal hyperacidification and initiate osmotic and lipidomic stress. These changes are associated with LMP and loss of lysosomal integrity in prostate cancer cells.

Germ-line mutations of the BRCA2 gene account for the majority of families with both male and female breast cancer. However, among independently ascertained families with the same mutation, cases of male breast cancer often appear to cluster in a single ...

Glyphosate resistance and EPSPS gene duplication: convergent evolution in multiple plant species
One of the increasingly widespread mechanisms of resistance to the herbicide glyphosate is copy number variation (CNV) of the 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS) gene.

Duplication Distance to the Root for Binary Sequences [PDF]
We study the tandem duplication distance between binary sequences and their roots. In other words, the quantity of interest is the number of tandem duplication operations of the form x = abc → y = abbc, where x and y are sequences and a,

Human neutrophils exist as two epigenetically imprinted subtypes defined by stable CD177 expression or absence — a ratio that persists across time, circadian rhythms, and inflammation. CD177− neutrophils display a distinct molecular landscape enriched in arginase 1 and lipid metabolism markers, accumulate in head‐and‐neck tumors, and associate with ...
